Problem with samba 2.2.4 and Mandrake 8.2
Hello all, I updated my mandrake 8.2 samba from version 2.2.3a to 2.2.4, using mandrake cooker package, but after the update my win98 clients can not logon on the server any more, the clients can't even find the pdc, because i get a big time from the time that the user type his username and pass, and the logon error message. So is this a problem with mandrake's package or the logon

samba-2.2.7a RPMs available for Mandrake 8.0, 8.1, 8.2 and 9.0
Just a quick note that I have finalised RPMs of 2.2.7a for Mandrake 8.0, 8.1, 8.2 and 9.0. They are currently available from http://ranger.dnsalias.com/mandrake/samba . Updates are in the works for 9.0, and RPMs for all releases should go to the samba mirrors soon, but if you're having problems with large file support, or are still running 2.2.6 for large file support, I thought you might

Packages of beta3 for Mandrake Linux (8.1 through 9.1)
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I have built RPMs of samba3.0.0beta3, which are parallel-installable with samba-2.2.x (for easy testing, though you can change that by rebuilding the srpm with other options) for Mandrake 8.1 through 9.1, which are available on my site. I hope to get these up on the samba ftp servers soon, but if you desperatly need packages, grab them from the

CVS RPMs for Mandrake 10 (Zaptel and Asterisk)
Is anyone interested in the RPMs I have built for Mandrake 10 (kernel 2.6) of a recent CVS dump? I have source RPMs for zaptel and asterisk which should work with any 2.6 kernel version of Mandrake (including Cooker). I haven't done anything with PRI so that isn't built. I also have binaries available for kernel 2.6.3-15mdk. I have deployed these RPM's in a small number of locations

libao source build problems on Mandrake 8.2b4: artsc.h missing?
Hi. I'm trying to build and install ogg vorbis on Mandrake 8.2b4. I'm using the ogg vorbis source rpms on the download page. libogg and libvorbis built fine, but it looks like I'm missing a basic aRts header file in the build error excerpt below (artsc.h--somebody check and make sure I'm on the right track). However, I have Mandrake Cooker arts, libarts2, libarts2-devel

Samba3 parallel installable RPMs for Mandrake 9.0
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I have been updating the packaging for Mandrake in HEAD, which means it is now possible to build RPMs of HEAD which are parallel installable with Mandrake RPMs of 2.2.x. Of course, you can only run one version of samba on a given interface. To do this, update to HEAD cvs if your snapshot is older than late yesterday. then: $ cd packaging/Mandrake $

Re: samba-server-3.0.4-2mdk
I took your advice late in the day Friday and pointed my urpmi sources at cooker. It took care of the Perl upgrade. I'm hoping to find time for configuration against the Openldap server I built. I really can't believe the Mandrake doc's got me up and running so quickly. I even created accounts in ldap for fellow staff memebers, including the boss, and had them log in. Love the

FYI: Article on R at IBM's developerWorks Server Clinic
Hi all, I happened to be reviewing a Linux web site that I frequent (http://www.pclinuxonline.com/index.php) and noted today an entry for an article on R at IBM's developerWorks Server Clinic site located at http://www-106.ibm.com/developerworks/linux/library/l-sc16.html. I thought that I would pass this on as an FYI. Regards, Marc Schwartz

He''s got a fairly complex nested form to update a model and its children. He''s started adding some validations, and we''ve encountered a number of issues: First he had a validation on one of the child

AIX 7.1 Samba4.10.6 missing library
I'm installing Samba 4.10.6.1 on an AIX 7.1 system. I have to use the IBM variant because of their SSL package, or so I think. I'm down to one requisite needed for samba-common-4.10.6-1. Which is libldb-key-value-samba4.so. If it is available on their Toolbox site, I can't find which library package I need to get it. I tried yum on CentOS 6 to get a clue, no such luck. I

IBM ServeRAID Manager software
Hi there, I'm in the process of installing Centos 5.2 on an IBM x236 w/ ServeRAID 7k I recently acquired to act as a samba file server. The hardware has all passed various stress tests I could throw at it so we're okay there. My question is. Has anyone had any luck getting the latest IBM ServeRAID Manager v9.0 working in CentOS? If so how? ServeRAID Manager is based off Adaptec's

.plan to avoid unhappy users
Hi, I am on a developpers list for mandrake: cooker@ and the rsync-servers broke which resulted in a lot of very unhappy people cause their rsync directories got empied. My idea is the following. rsync is a mirroring tool. The usual thing that happens in a mirroring tool is that packages do not disappear. You server that archive: like the linux-kernel server. And you got servers that update
