RHSrvAny: Fix failure on Windows 2003
The newly rebuilt RHSrvAny worked on Windows XP, Windows 2003 R2, and Windows Vista+, but segfaulted on Windows 2003. After much investigation, the issue seems to have been with inconsistent use of Unicode. This series fixes compilation on Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 (the most recent version which runs on Windows 2003), fixes all compiler warnings, and enabled warnings during the build. The

Newer GnuPG (S)RPMS?
Hi, Has anyone newer GnuPG (S)RPMs than the one coming with CentOS (gnupg-1.2.1-10). That one obviously has problems (for example: it doesn't recognize new signatures on keys when doing 'gpg --import keysfile'). I tried to build new packages from various SRPMs from the Fedora distros. The builds went oke, however, after installing them (no complaining debs) this error occurs when

Fwd: win32-clipboard and Unicode zero bytes
Hi all, I''m forwarding this message from Brian Marick. If you run this test script and then paste the results into a Unicode aware text editor, you''ll notice that it only prints one character instead of three. I tried changing the strlen to _tcslen and strcpy to _tcscpy, but that didn''t help. I mucked around a bit with the MultiByteToWideChar function, too, but

decoded sample is completely differen from original one
Hi all, I have just started playing with speex, and come up with the following code, which just encode a frame of 160 shorts, and the decode it. For some reason the decoded sample is completely different than the original one. is my code wrong? If so what? Or is it a reasonable which depends of values that weren't correctly set? Thanks, Andre #include <stdio.h> #include

Detecting a programm runs using Wine
Is there absolutelu no (unofficial) way to detect whether a programm is running using Wine? In this way a programm could decide to use other routines for those features that do not work fine using Wine.

WinRuby?
Hi all, With the latest 1.8.6 release out today, I was wondering - what would you all think of a Windows-only fork of Ruby? I mean Perl has ActiveState, right? It ships with a slightly different interpreter and different libraries, so why not Ruby? Here''s what I''m thinking: * Win2k or later. No 95/98/ME support. No cygwin/mingw, either. * Assume VC++ 8. Use whatever

winelib and msvcrt/stdio.h
Hi, I am using Winelib and no mfc to get a company app to run on Linux. It is a cuiexe as well. However, I get a lot of errors when I include <msvcrt/io.h>. e.g., /usr/include/wine/msvcrt/stdio.h:66: syntax error before '(' This line is: typedef struct MSVCRT(_iobuf) Is it possible to do this with C/C++? I am assuming it is a Windows thing. My version of wine is:

Can't get 'dos filemode' to work as expected
Hello, After an upgrade to samba 3.5.8 (from 3.2.5) the option 'dos filemode' does not seem to work anymore. If I (as a user) do not own the file I can't change permissions. I am user 'felix' and member of supplementary group 'Development'. To test things I use the following share definition: [Temp] path = /srv/samba/file-shares/tmp browseable =

Windows share modes and Linux file locking, flock & fcntl
Hi, I am trying to understand file locking and share modes. I am using RedHat Enterprise Linux 4, with kernel 2.6.9-55.ELsmp, samba-3.0.10-1.4E.11 and Windows XP. In particular I am looking at a machine running Linux exporting its local filesystem using Samba, with a Windows client accessing the file share. If I use byte range locking (fcntl() on Linux, LockFile() on Windows) things work as

Line splitting in system() (PR#6624)
According to the manual, system() splits output lines into 8096-char chunks; under UNIX, actually seems to return 8094 chars, and drop the 8095th. Spot missing digits in: x2 <- system("perl -e 'print \"0123456789\"x10000'", intern=T) Looks like a bug in the code to remove newlines at src/unix/sys-unix.c:218 -- fgets() reads size-1 characters and adds
