OT: Recommendation for a good Internationalized terminal software
Hi all, We've got server-based application that runs on CentOS. Until now, most of our customer's end-users have accessed the application using either PuTTY or Teraterm. I was asked yesterday to try and find internationalized add ons or alternatives for our new Asian customers (Japan, Korea and China atm). I figured if anyone would be able to recommend terminal emulation

getting cygwin to run under wine
Hi! I am trying to run CygWin, the Win32 version of gcc and friends, under wine. Why am I not running gcc directly? It's a long story. Anyway: I installed cygwin OK, but when I go to c:\cygwin\bin and do a 'wine bash.exe', something _seems_ to flash up on the screen and I am notified that Wine exited with a successful status. Is there a way to make bash stick around so that I

Accessing a Modem / Dial-up telnet connection
Hi Mr newbie here. Using 32-bit Ubuntu 11.10 and Wine 1.3.28. I have installed a Creative PCI Modem and that works well as /dev/modem from things like putty. I've done the link ln -s /dev/modem ~/.wine/dosdevices/com6 so it's now my com6 within wine. However, using teraterm the response from the modem is bitty and slow and pretty useless. If I do something like AT\r the OK\r does come

cmdat utility...
On 13 Mar 99, Luke Kenneth Casson Leighton had this to say about about cmdat utility...: > this small utility can be used to run an arbitrary program by clicking > right-mouse-button on a directory. the default action is to run "ssh.exe" > on a Samba server and a command prompt "cmd.exe" on an NT server. Excuse me for being ignorant, but what is ssh.exe? A win32

openssh 3.7p1 and 3.7.1p1 Solaris problems
I have some Solaris 7 boxes (Ultra 3 and Ultra Enterprise 250 hardware) that I have compiled both 3.7p1 and 3.7.1p1 on and am having some problems. I am using the same "configure" options that I have in the past (without problems). I have tried both new and existing (previously working) ssh_config and sshd_config files. The new versions seem to have broken SSH 1 support (and

It is some time that I using AirMail3 with wine. I have the latest version of Wine but after I configure the Ports from ttyR0 to ttyR7 and running AirMail3 this application is not able to comunicate using the equivalent COM1 .... COM4 ports. I'm not sure if Wine is converting correctly ttyR0 to COM1 and so forth. The result is that for the Hurricane season I can NOT use E-Mail under

Question: llvm-link type merge behaviour of c++ classes
Hi LLVM community, I'd like to ask a question regarding the behavior of llvm-link: My code contains Classes which are structurally equivalent but they are totally unrelated and distinct on a c++ point of view. However, if the compiled IR gets processed by llvm-link, these types are merged together. My question is: Is this expected behavior or a bug? To explain it more in detail, a reduced

authenticating with LDAP and SSL
I managed to configure Dovecot to use a local OpenLDAP server to authenticate clients, without using SSL. However, I would rather that LDAP is accessed using SSL, but I cannot get Dovecot to connect. All that I did was change "uris" to "ldaps://localhost", and this appears in the maillog: Mar 18 12:53:00 server dovecot: Dovecot v1.0.rc15 starting up Mar 18 12:53:01 server

Rsync via two ssh tunnels possible (standard method mentioned k times not possible?)
Hi list, After reading rsync docu and doing online search, I still failed to find a simple solution for following problem: The goal is to sync two directories using rsync without running the rsync daemon on one of the two hosts. The standard shell sync does not work because of the network topology: Ssh connect to SRC-Host ^ Base host (with ssh keys) v Ssh connect to bridge

Mounting smb
Hi, I noticed your message in the digest and I'm having the same problem. I can get into my Win98 machine use smbclient, but I want to mount the drive in /mnt. But when I go to do that, it whines about client names and the like. Have you managed to do it? If so, can you let me know how as I'm almost tearing my hair out here! - Stuart Luscombe

problem with regapi on Solaris 8 x86
Hello, I have been tinkering with Wine on Solaris 8 x86. I downloaded the source (20010305) and built wine. The installation went very well until the last part where I asked to build a registry using regapi. Here is the error I get when trying to run regapi. bash-2.03# ./regapi setValue < /usr/local/software/wine-20010305/winedefault.reg Could not stat /mnt/fd0 (No such file or

Trick user to send private key password to compromised host
Hi list, I do not known, if this is really an issue but i noticed that when connecting to a remote ssh host with the standard linux openssh client using a private key, that there is no line of text indicating when the local key-passwd process was completed and the connection session was established. On a compromised host, the login shell could write the line 'Enter passphrase for key

Hi All, I have an error code 23 (shown below) which I can't debug: I am using: $ rsync --version rsync version 2.6.2 protocol version 28 Here's the command I execute: rsync -av --delete /Users/mydir /Volumes/FireLite\ 60\ GB/backup/ After the transfer which apparently transfers the files correctly, I get the following error code: wrote 2630815 bytes read 200 bytes 78537.76

chroot-ing users coming in via SSH and/or SFTP?
A client wants me to set up a mechanism whereby his customers can drop files securely into directories on his FreeBSD server; he also wants them to be able to retrieve files if needed. The server is already running OpenSSH, and he himself is using Windows clients (TeraTerm and WinSCP) to access it, so the logical thing to do seems to be to have his clients send and receive files via SFTP or SCP.

winelib with a dll
Sorry to bug you all, but I want to know if I am trying to do something impossible. I am trying to use winelib to compile an exe that links to a dll, without compiling the dll under winelib (i.e. the equivalent of simply linking in the .lib). I have a win32 DLL project (hw5) that generates a hw5.lib, hw5.dll and hw5.h under M$. I have a win32 gui exe project (hw6) that includes hw5.h, links to

Creating 'trash' folder
This might well be OT; however, I thought I would ask anyway. Please keep in mind that the IMAP server is Dovecot. I have a friend who uses Becky Internet Mail <http://www.rimarts.co.jp/becky.htm> on a Windows system. There us an options under the configuration menu in Becky to create the trash folder on the server. It suggest ".trash" for the name. He is aware that I use Dovecot
