DBF database hangs up, when running from Samba 3.0.14 share
Hi to everyone, Since last week I am trying to fix following problem: I have a DOS application, operating on DBF databases. I've set up a Samba 3.0.14a-2 server running as a PDC on Fedora Core 4 (in fact, Samba server was a part of FC4 distribution). I've set up a share and then I've moved all data for this application on to that share. The problem is that the application hangs

They should appear there within a day or two. == heplots The heplots package provides functions for visualizing hypothesis tests in multivariate linear models (MANOVA, multivariate multiple regression, MANCOVA, etc.). They represent sums-of-squares-and-products matrices for linear hypotheses and for

Declaring/importing non-exported functions [car] in another package
A new function in my heplots package wants to use a non-exported utility function in the car package, df.terms, but this depends on other non-exported functions. From the Writing R extensions manual, I thought I could do this via (in my NAMESPACE) importFrom(car, car:::df.terms, car:::df.terms.default, car:::is.aliased) but I get: ** preparing package for lazy loading Error : objects

Keyboard does not work
Hi When I open the game (in this case Juiced), on the 'PROFILE MANAGER screen', the keyboard does not work. At the moment appears to CG I can cut it down, but when I get the screen to create a profile, no key works. I've tried both with the program in fullscreem and window mode (Juiced) in situations with and without the virtual desktop. Already ran two other games and had no

Wine and 3D rendering issues
Hi everyone, I hate to ask n00bish questions, but after several days of forum scouring and searching for answers, I'm at a loss as to where to go next. I'm a long-time Linux CLI user, but I haven't really played with Wine or many aspects of the GUI-end until recently. I've been trying to get two of my favorite Windows games to run on my Debian Testing install, and keep coming to

speex over radio and homemade hardware
I've been given the task to hunt down a codec that out solar car team can use to transmit and receive data over a radio link between a chase car and the solar car its self. As of now I do not know the exact specifications of the internal hardware of the car, what I do know is they are looking at transmitting across a 2400baud connection, the unit in the car is homemade from our labs here.

Intercept in lm and in library(car): Anova
Hi I have two questions regarding the meaning of intercept outputs of lm. Question 1: In data set 1 (a fully-balanced design), the line with (Intercept) contains the overall mean, and the estimates contain the differences from the overall mean (matching those from model.tables). But in data set 2, the line with the intercept does not correspond to the overall mean and the estimates don't

"obey pam restrictions" and encrypted passwords
Hello everybody, I?m using Red Hat 7.3 with Samba setup as a PDC, and I?m having a doubt. I am studying the directive "obey pam restrictions" because I would like to limit the number of logins with the same id. The documentation provided by SWAT tells me that encrypted passwords (like used by Windows98SE) will NOT follow these restrictions. Anybody could tell me if this information is
