Question from a newbie
I've been going to www.winehq.com for info. I'm having problems finding the lastest CVS. Every link I try tells me either it's not available, or gives me a version lower than my current. I installed an RPM which I want to replace by compiling the most current CVS. However, I'm not sure which one to get. Could some give this newbie a little guidance?

Wine without Windows
I have RedHat 6.2 with Wine installed. However, I do NOT have Windozzzz installed. I need to run some Windows apps such as IE5, Outlook 98, Office 97 AND Office 2000 (don't ask). Anyway, are there any online resources that would be recommended?

HOWTO Samba on RH 7.0
Hello all: While I'm recovering from gall bladder surgery, I thought I'd do something useful (since sitting up is about the only comfortable position I can find)... like create a HOWTO Samba (-2.0.7-21ssl) on RH7 (w/ xinetd-2.1.8.9pre14). I have already sent off the request to the HOWTO coordinator at linuxdoc.org (has anyone noticed that the listed email address

IE5 and Outlook98 under Wine
I was wondering if anyone has been able to get IE5 and Outlook98 to run under any wine implementation? I have RH 6.2 with CodeWeavers wine installed WITHOUT a Windoze partition. (I have to have these for work, that's why!) When I start the install, the setup routine runs but the setup.exe comes back saying my Windows language is not English, so I need to remove the Desktop Update and

sources of 2.4.0 patched
Hi, I have a question about the availability of tarballs for 2.4.0-patched. I routinely compile and install fresh versions of R-patched as well as R-devel every few days. I do it mostly "for fun" but also to check for possible build problems or problems with my development environment (Win2000, cygwin plus all the necessary tools including MinGW compilers and MiKTex). I get the

run many linear regressions against the same independent variables in batch
R function lm(response ~ term) allows me to run a linear regression on a single response vector. For example, I have recent one year historical prices for a stock and S&P index. I can run regression of the stock prices (as response vector) against the S&P index prices (as term vector). Now assume I have 1000 stocks to run the above regressions (against the same S&P index prices).

Problem With Groups in Samba 3.0.23 ?
Hi all, I just upgraded a test copy of my samba server from version 3.0.10E to the latest, 3.0.23D - the RPM available for Red Hat AS4 on the samba.org site. There was no samba-common, just samba, samba-client and samba-winbind RPMs. I installed all three successfully. I backed up my configs before hand and replaces / adapted them afterwards. I successfully added this server to the

Users can Read but not Write / Delete Files
Hi All, Hi All, Here is a situation where everyone can read to, but not write to or delete, the shares on our Samba server: We moved the file server a few weeks ago - split off some files to a new Windows file server - and users could read but not write files to the old Samba server after it was renamed (SAN to OLDSAN). It turned out SELinux was running, which I disabled, rebooted, and all

Hi all, I am encountering an RODBC problem in R 2.15.1 in windows 64 bit which I do not encountered in the same set up in windows 32 bit (the latest binary version of RODBC in both cases from the same depository gotten by install.packages(‘RODBC’), Oracle ODBC client software installed in 64 and 32 bit respectively) 1. The code looks like library(RODBC) credentials <-

use of queueing disciplines in netfilter queues
http://www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/Adv-Routing-HOWTO.html 9.5 Ingress policer qdisc contains: FIXME: instead of dropping, can we also assign it to a real queue? Has anyone done this? What support is there or alternatively, what''s missing? I''d like to use netfilter to queue packets and then connect that to things like TBF. For instance, suppose we want to process the incoming
