similar to: VXDs under linux?

I would like to see Mame/32 working in Wine, however, it uses a couple of VxDs to do some things (I think it is timing and joysticks). Normally VxD's do not work in Wine, but Mame/32 is open source. With access to the source code of the VxD's, would it be possible to modify the VxD files to work with Wine? If so, what would need to be done to make the VxD drivers work with Wine?

I just can't seem to get this working... I've moved a number of OS level DLLs and VXDs over from WIN98... I seem to have gotten past one hurdle and on to the next. It seems that the problem that I was having relates to poorly documented changes in the config files in the HOWTO. I now have /root/.wine/config which seems to solve the old drive problem. However, here is my new error. Anyone have succefully run clonecd or know how to burn cloneCD files under linux ? I can run CloneCD but it tell me that it cant load device driver and shutdown immedialty wine tell me that it dont know the VXD ElbyCDIO any ideas ? thx

Don't know what's wrong, but the only managed window I get is for Forte Agent. I can't get Notepad, Regedit and IrfanView to run managed. wine 10510 on debian testing/woody Using wine without windows. I ran the winesetup utility and set win98 and managed. Setting wine --managed before executing the program also didn't help. Anyone ? Jeremy
