similar to: Half-Life sound problem

I got it working with wine, yay... And it's entirely playable but two problems puzzle me. Number one: The sound is lagging behind. I shoot and then about 1 second later, the gun makes a noise. Now the gun fires instantly but the sound is just delayed. (the same with all sound in half-life, no other game though). Anyone else had this problem? Number two: Performance is still rather poor.

Hi all, I am new to wine. Please let me know whether I can run DOS programs which uses TCP/IP stack installed as TSR. I have a couple of old programs still not converted to the new world! Hi all, I got problems installing Half-Life. I manage to start the Setup.exe, the installer loads and the WAV file is played :) Then, wine/HL hangs. I seem to have gotten past one hurdle and on to the next. It seems that the problem that I was having relates to poorly documented changes in the config files in the HOWTO. Ive tried very hard to get Half-Life to run on my Linux box...and I have finally managed to get it to work...the problem (the BIG problem) was that I was trying to use an installed version of windows as the basis of wine.
