Grim Fandango in wine
Hey all,
It's a thorn in my side, I had monkey island 3 running in wine, but this
one just doesn't cooperate. The setup program exits with a problem copying
install files (error 112, if it means anything). If anyone has got it
working, let me know.
Thanks

wine hangs when waiting for user-input
Starting and running apps seems to go just fine. But when apps needs
userinputs it just hangs forever. I can't interact.
What's up, what have I forgotten?
I'm running FreeBSD 4.2-STABLE and XFree 4.0.2.

screen goes blank
Hi
I just upgraded wine to version 0.9.25 on ubuntu dapper, and now DeusEx
makes the screen/desktop go blank.
I've been running DeusEx for a long time without issues. I've tried
reverting back to version 0.9.24, but the blank screen happens still.
I'm running all application in an emulated desktop, so no matter what, wine
shouldn't turn the entire screen blank.
Any ideas

History plugin
Hello,
I felt annoyed enough when having to redirect user back to their
previous location in a hackish way that I wrote this plugin.
It avoids storing POST and Ajax request. It also has a facility to
specify actions not to store in the history.
If you are interested, it''s there:

openGL problem ?
I started SolidWorks (3D CAD program) with wine.
As soon as I go from 2D sketch to 3D solid the
screen is becoming black. One can see some
lines as it is rotated. The same is for wireframe
and rendered solids. 2D works very good. What
can be the reason ? (SW is openGL based)
Any help is welcome

How to I fix undefined symbol: _glapi_Context error?
Hi,
I found several hits on this, but my attempts to fix it do not work.
I compiled the latest Wine 20010629 without a problem, but when I go to
run any windows app with wine I get:

x11drv.dll: /usr/X11R6/lib/libOSMesa.so.3: undefined symbol: _glapi_Context

Can't seem to build wine correctly
Hi,
I am having trouble building wine. I can't seem to get libopegl32.so
build correctly. Where it comes down to it doesn't link to libGL.*.so.
I am trying to build wine on debian unstable with nvidia stuff.

Hello there!
I think wine has become pretty good because I got some basic windows
programs (mspaint, mscalc) fully working and WinOnCD worked fine. But now
when I start a program (PowerDVD in this case) I get the following error
message:
bash-2.04# wine "/windows/E/Programme/CyberLink/PowerDVD/powerdvd.exe"

Greetings,
I would love any advice configuring icecast on a virtual redhat server
hosted by our university. I am currently trying to configure Icecast and
cannot get the icecast server to start. The config file looks correct. I
checked the /var/www/icecast/web and /var/www/icecast/admin folders and they
were both empty, leading me to believe that this is why the server will not
start. Since I was

C vs. C++ as learning and development tool for R
I have 3 years of experience with R and have an interest in becoming a
better programmer so that I might someday be able to contribute
packages. Other than R, my only experience was taking Lisp from Daniel
Friedman in the 1970's. I would like to learn either C or C++ for
several reasons:
To gain a better concept of object oriented programming so that I can
begin to use S4 methods in R.

I have just finished a re-install of a box that was previously working fine

Wichmann-Hill Random Number Generator and the Birthday Problem
Dear all,
Recently I am generating large random samples (10M) and any duplicated
numbers are not desired.
We tried several RNGs in R and found Wichmann-Hill did not produce
duplications.
The duplication problem is the interesting birthday problem. If there are
M possible numbers, randomly draw N numbers from them,
the average number of dupilcations D = N(N-1)/2/M.

RNG Cycle and Duplication
Hello all,
I am generating large samples of random numbers. The RNG help page says:
"All the supplied uniform generators return 32-bit integer values that are
converted to doubles, so they take at most 2^32 distinct values and long
runs will return duplicated values." But I find that the cycles are not
the same as the 32-bit integer.
My test indicated that the cycles for
