FrameMaker 6.0 problem - further information
I originally posted that I have been unable to run FrameMaker 6.0 under wine. Frame complains that it can't find printer fonts (whatever that means) and it prompts to see if I want to edit the registry. As requested by a couple of responders, I ran wine with font debugging on. Attached is the last 200 line of the log before the call to MessageBox(). Any ideas would be appreciated. Since

Palm Hotsync success...
Well, after having given up uppon serial communication from hotsync.exe to the Palm Vx, I decided to try network communication instead. I am able to perform a complete hotsync even with Netscape Calendar synchronization. I am not doing anything special to make it work but it is not straight forward, neither. I start hotsync.exe, configuring it for network access only. Then I start pi-nredir

Running Palm Desktop 4.14
I'm trying to run Palm Desktop, following James Littett's HOWTO. Step 1 is "Start Hotsync on WINE. Enable network syncing" I get [les@bilbo ~]$ wine "/home/les/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/palmOne/HotSync.exe" fixme:shell:DllCanUnloadNow stub err:module:import_dll Library USBPort.dll (which is needed by L"C:\\Program Files\\palmOne\\USBTransport.dll") not

Palm m50x & the USB stack
[It seems the last time this came up was in march, under the heading of "Sony Cybershot should be in hardware notes". This message is intended mainly to document what I've managed to track down.] The m500s still will not sync with pilot-link 0.11.7 in -STABLE. An easily triggerable panic is another issue [1]. The pilot-link code first opens /dev/ugenX and then switches to

LoadOEMResource crash [Was: Re: Problem report: SHRINKER.ERR, fix to DEVICE_Open/CreateFileA? ]
Hi Pavel, Right, my app also crashes in a different place under winedbg, although it crashes in the same winedbg place under gdb. I took a closer look at wine --winver nt40 --debugmsg +all. I found something interesting. If I search for queue_exception, I find that there is an exception raised before the LoadOEMCall, about 328klines in: 0806d398:Call

Changing permissions on files that only exist during USB operation
A while back I got help in getting my Palm Pilot to connect to CentOS, and through the advice I got here I was able to successfully back up my files to the computer using the CentOS default Palm utility. However, I now want to use JPilot to sync and install files. But when I attempt to sync through JPilot, I get the following error: ******************************* Syncing on device /dev/pilot

Problem with ADO connection
Hi, First a big Thank You to the wine developers. Your efforts are greatly appreciated and have allowed me to move users to Linux that I could never have moved otherwise. I am currently setting up desktops for 7 end users, but doing so requires that I get a particular application (The Electronic Manual) which is a parts catalog for the restaurant equipment service industry. The application

Wine-20010305 - MS Word97 - FlashWindow loop
Hi, Microsoft word 97 seems to get stuck in a FlashWindow loop. Briefly, the word splash screen and main window come up fine. When I click on the File menu and then on the Open choice, wine seems to get stuck in a loop in which the window title bar flashes active and inactive. A preamble and a couple of loop iterations follow in the trace below. Looping behavior does not occur when I try the

starcraft install wierdness.
I know, Starcraft has been covered much, but I still cannot make starcraft complete its installation. The installation halts while adding shortcuts to the start menu. As someone (Ove I believe) mentioned, Starcraft adds certain registry keys after creating shortcuts, requiring the installation to continue. I have modified wineshelllink in order to gain some insight: #!/bin/sh echo "$@"

JRuby version of win32-api - initial try
Hi all, I''ve got a preliminary JRuby version of win32-api checked into CVS at the moment under win32-api/lib/win32/api.rb. I''ve also pasted it below. It doesn''t quite work right in that I can''t get it to modify the arguments in place in the API#call method. Take a look at the sample code at the very bottom to see what I mean. I haven''t even tried
