Finding VBA
I am running May 2001 Wine with Excel 7. When I open an xls file I get
the error message that it can't find vbaen32.olb. The file is in
/c/windows/system and this directory is in my path and system path.
Anyone have any ideas?

Trouble with Wine-20010216
I've been using various versions of Wine for a year or so, and up
to 20001026 I've had no problems. However, I just tried building
20010216 and my lucky streak came to an end. Now when I try to
run anything, I get the following error messages:
err:module:BUILTIN32_dlopen failed to load .so lib for builtin

Wine just won't work! Baffled.
I just compiled and installed Wine 20010216 snapshot. Compiles fine,
installs fine. I set up my configuration to use my Windows install, but
when I try to run something, I get messages similar to this:
# wine notepad.exe
err:module:BUILTIN32_dlopen failed to load .so lib for builtin
shell32.dll: /usr/local/lib/librpcrt4.so: undefined symbol: dbch_ole

remove my email address
I am starting to receive a lot of unsolicited email at work. I did a web
search on my name to see if my email address is accessible on any web sites.
I got a hit on this site
http://samba.cadcamlab.org/lists/samba/Dec2000/00720.html
which is a message I sent to your list server a couple of years ago. Please
remove my email address from the web page. Thanks.

Complex samba setup, requesting advise
I have a rather unusual setup within which I'd like to run samba.
At this point I have:
a) 3 networks (all private IP's)
b) net1, net2 are interconnected by a router.
net1 has a host that also acts as a WINS server and is local master,
domain master, preferred master for it's group. (linux slack7.0, samba
2.0.5)
router between net1, net2 has an IP in each network and samba

xyplot: modify axis tick marks
Hi,
I would like to plot time against rainfall data (data is at the end)
using xyplot.
The basic code looks like this: xyplot(rainfall~time, type="a")
When I do this, the graph looks ok except that the x-axis has too many
values. I would just like to display the years and not the months on
the x-axis. I've been fiddling around with 'scales', and read previous
posts about

I think this is the risk you take if you use a vital email address to post
to public forums. I would suggest using seperate addresses for these
functions. Besides, if you don't

Excel on Wine
I have been playing with Wine for the past year and admiring its
progress.
I am most interested in running Excel on it. For a while, I had about
80% functionality out of it but lately it (Excel 5) has been crashing
before it is fully loaded. First it puts up a dialog window saying it
can't use shared objects and then another window saying it can't use VBA
and then crashes. Thus now

Samba and Win98 dail up connection
I have a home network with my dial up connection on the windows 98 machine.
Since I have installed SAMBA and configured the computers to see each other,
I can no longer pull up a website on the windows 98 machine. The problem is
that I have assigned a permanent IP address for the Intranet. I have to use
DHCP for the dail up connection. Therefore the IP address that I assign to

Wine on Suse 7.1
I installed Suse 7.1 and Wine. When I attempted to upgrade it with
Wine-20010507-1.i386.rpm and got two error messages:
Shadow-utils needed by Wine,
Kdebase conflicts with Wine.
Any help would be appreciated.

I belong to a lot of groups, please forgive me if I am worng. However,
I believe I signed up for the daily digest.
I just went to the "FLAC Info Page" and couldn't find where I can switch
my preferences for the digest.
Can someone help me out?

Samba 3: is LDAP required?
Hi folks:
I've asked this question before and the answer didn't seem that clear. Let's
try again - shall we?
Yes or no - is OpenLDAP required to be on the SAMBA 3.0 server in order for
Active Directory support to work? Active Directory support == "security =
ads".
Thanks
