libwine problem! - PLEASE HELP!!
Hi there,
Over the last week I wanted to move from using Borland windows compiler
to g++ with libwine. I used winemaker to make the makefile. Fixed some
problems with compiling (2 or so). But now I acn't start the program...
The output file is the amdprime.so and a amdprime symlink to the wine
script.
But if I try to run the symlink I get:
./AmdPrime: line 400: 29548 Segmentation fault

From a newbie: how to run MS Word?
Hi!
Half an hour ago I installed wine-20041201 under Mandrake Linux 9.1,
successfully I think.
On my PC I also have a partition with Windows 98 in it, correctly mounted.
I installed Wine with the main purpose of properly writing and reading documents
in MS Word, since neither kword, nor Open Office kwrite nor even abiword
achieve this purpose in a satisfaying way.
Now, probably I haven't

Re: Office 2007 Programs will not Launch
Hello, I am new to wine altogether and find myself experiencing this same problem.
I've read through this posting and taken all the advice into account...My install of Office is clean, and I selected to ONLY install word. Also I do not have winetricks installed (or know where to install it from, so I'm glad it's not needed).
Terminal output:

Bug#648029: xen-utils-common: /usr/lib/xen-common/bin/xen-toolstack (and thus /usr/sbin/xm) works with bash, but not dash
Package: xen-utils-common
Version: 4.1.2-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable
(Grave because dash is the default /bin/sh)
With dash 0.5.5.1-7.4 as /bin/sh, /usr/sbin/xm enters an infinite loop
of reexcuting itself. When run with bash, it works correctly.
I traced that to /usr/lib/xen-common/bin/xen-toolstack; here's the
diff between "/bin/sh -x /usr/sbin/xm"

frontpage express
Hi,
I would like some help getting wine to run frontpage express. I have been using wine successfully with "Remote Administrator" for nearly a year. This is the first time I've wanted to use another program.
I had an error code, and as part of the troubleshooting process, removed, purged and reinstalled everything, however continue to have the same problem.

Current state of MS Office 2003?
I installed Office 2003 in Wine without any winetricks or native DLLs.
Excel works great, Word crashes a lot and can't save.
What's the current best attempt to get Word 2003 to work in Wine? I
see the AppDB shows no ideas on getting it working ...
It's supported in CrossOver, so it should be possible in winehq Wine!
Has anyone got Word working?

plain DOS
Hi!
I just hear you talking about programs like UT or winword, requiring either
a 3D rendering engine or a million DLLs.
But has anyone of you ever successfully started a plain DOS Program like
MS edit.com or duke3d?
Whenever i try anything like that wine runs into an infinite loop and does
nothing but produce cpu load and

aggregate() runs out of memory
I have a large data.frame Z (2,424,185,944 bytes, 10,256,441 rows, 17 columns).
I want to get the result of
table(aggregate(Z$V1, FUN = length, by = list(id=Z$V2))$x)
alas, aggregate has been running for ~30 minute, RSS is 14G, VIRT is
24.3G, and no end in sight.
both V1 and V2 are characters (not factors).
Is there anything I could do to speed this up?
Thanks.

Insert Symbol not working in MS Office 2007 Word
Whenever I insert a symbol in Word 2007, it crashes. It doesn't crash in PowerPoint 2007 or Excel 2007. This is because a dialog box comes up instead whilst in Word, it is more of a drop down menu.
This is my counsel output:
Code:
wine winword.exe

setting of a shortcut to start applications
In order to start an application (e.g. Word), I have to type the following command line (which is very long) :
wine .wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Microsoft\ Office/OFFICE11/WINWORD.EXE
How to proceed if I want to change my system (Debian Etch) so that I only need to type a short command line like :
wine WINWORD.EXE

Hi,
I have a strange problem with samba 3.0.14a. One of my users is
experiencing a lot of temporary files created by winword 2003. Winword
does delete the temp files under any other userid. The only difference I
know of is that the problematic user was created after the automatic
switch from samba 2.2.8a to 3.0.14a (during an upgrade from debian woody

MS Access2000 does not work fine
Dear All
I am using Wine 0.9.15 on Fedora Core 5 in connection with WineTools.
However, when I create a new database on MS Access (from MS
Office2000), I get the following error:
"The Dynamic Link Library msjet40.dll could not be located".
So, I cannot use MS Access under Wine.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Paul
