R - Compiling and calling Fortran code that uses IMSL libraries - Help!
Good Afternoon R Help! On of my users is seriously thinking about moving to R from Splus. In his testing, he has already found some benefits to it. He has, however run into one issue, calling his Fortran functions in R. Previously, in Splus, he would do the following: 1. Compile via f90 the *.f program 2. link the object file to the Fortran IMSL libraries via the 'ld' command 3.

Questions about Preserving registers
Hi folks, I tried to use Mirosoft Fortran Powerstation 4.0 to create a dll file. However, when I used the command dyn.load(“test.dll”), I got the following message: NULL Warning message: DLL attempted to change FPU control word from 9001f to 90003 I read the instruction on Duncan Murdoch’s website about preserving registers, but I still don’t understand it. For example, 1. On first entry

using DLLs with R
Hi, i tried to build a dll, that i want to use with R, so I wrote the Fortran Code and built the dll with MS Fortran Powerstation. In every subroutine I want to export I wrote a statement like this: interface !ms$attributes dllexport :: abc !ms$attributes alias:'abc' :: abc end interface abc is the name of the subroutine i want to export. topical guide to R packages
I would like to see R packages arranged by topic. CRAN Task Views are at http://lib.stat.cmu.edu/R/CRAN/src/contrib/Views/ , but I'd like something more detailed. For example, the IMSL Fortran library, version 4 is easy to navigate and has procedures arranged according to following topics: Basic Statistics Regression Correlation Analysis of Variance Categorical and Discrete

visual C++ 6 semi-success story
I use visual C++ 6 in wine to build an app. I've been leaving MSDEV open to see how long it'll stay up. It was fine for several days, but after a week, it lost the ability to compile. (No big problem, but it'd be nice to narrow this down someday, assuming it doesn't do the same thing on Windows.)

Building rgui with Visual C/C++ 6
Hi, I have downloaded and modified the source for rgui - because I wanted to add a few more custom menus to the GUI. I have almost got it completed, but have spent the last four hours trying to resolve the following issue (no pun intended !) Linking... R.lib(R.dll) : error LNK2005: _WatchCursor already defined in cursors.obj R.lib(R.dll) : error LNK2005: _ArrowCursor already defined in

R-beta: Problem with dyn.load/IMSL
I would like to enclose my own C routines to R. I'm using some IMSL Fortran Routines in my C code, but I can not load the shared IMSL library direct nor by using -limsl in the ld statement. Has anyone experiences with loading IMSL Fortran routines to R? Many thanks Markus Huerzeler _______________________________________________________________________________ Markus Huerzeler

uint decode error on visual studio...
Is this a common warning? The decoder doesn't return an error on it, but I see it a lot in my test application on windows. It is non existent on my linux box. I haven't tried mingw yet. please note that I'm using visual studio 2008 w/the vcproj that Bjoern Rasmussen made for 0.5.2 (w/some file references removed) at the moment and it is giving a lot of C4554 warnings

error message %1 is not a valid Win32 application.
Hi Everyone, I am trying to work with a routine that is from the IMSL called BSVLS. I have the file as a .dll file. I have been trying to call the routine using the dyn.load function. I am working on a 32-bit windows 7 OS with 3 GB. For some reason i still keep getting the error message LoadLibrary %1 is not a valid Win32 application I looked at previous posting and they were all related to

differential equations
Hi, Does somebody knows of the existence of a library of functions for solving differential equations, I need a solver for a system of non linear first order differential equations. I think there was something in IMSL but that was a long time ago and probably there are some new algorithms in the new now. Thanks for any pointers. . R. R Book Advice Needed
I am new to using R and would appreciate some advice on which books to start with to get up to speed on using R. My Background: 1-C# programmer. 2-Programmed directly using IMSL (Now Visual Numerics). 3- Used in past SPSS and Statistica. I put together a list but would like to pick the "best of" and avoid redundancy. Any suggestions on these books would be helpful (i.e. too much

More changes to the win32 build environment
I made some changes to the win32 build environment. The build scripts now use msdev to build all the projects (kind of like Jack originally had it.) If building with nmake and makefiles is desired, such as if it is expected that the sdk will be copied to an environment which has a version of MSVC older then version 6 -- simply set the environment variable USENMAKE to any value and the

Strange time stamp behaviour
We're having this strange problem with Samba and I have not been able to pinpoint the problem in any way. I'm hoping someone has come across a similar problem and has a workaround or fix. Some files opened on a Samba mounted volume from MS Developer Studio, keep wanting to get reloaded. For some reason, MS Dev Studio keeps thinking that a file it just opened was subsequently modified.

Winelib for creating makefile to run on Windows?
Hello, I'm an embedded software developer. Most of our development is done with a cross-compiler, and is built using nmake makefiles. We also have a windows console cli application that talks to the target via USB. It was orignally written using the VS 6.0 IDE. Later, when we wanted to integrate building it into our automated build environment, we wrote makefiles (we did not use VS's
