Bacula dbcheck in CentOS6
Anyone else notice that /usr/libexec/bacula/make_catalog_backup.pl runs a "dbcheck -B"
which doesn't seem to exist in the version of dbcheck shipped with it?
# strings /usr/sbin/dbcheck |grep -i print

CentOS Bugtracker: how to give up on an issue?
Every time I go to http://bugs.centos.org/my_view_page.php I am
shown, under "Reported by me", three problems with the CentOS
Bacula packages which I reported in 2011, complete with proposed
fix, but which never got any love (status still "new"):

CentOS and bacula
Hi Fabio,
thanks for your reply. (I'm new with bacula).
To make things more clear:
1) Reinstall CentOS and software;
2) Configure database and import catalog
3) Copy last valid configuration for dir, sd,fd and console.
4) Re-attach my disk backup device with last volumes
That's all?
Another question is about Catalog backup. When I need to restore a
backup, bacula reads catalog and

Hi Alessandro,
Just backup your database and you'll be fine.
If there's a need you cal always 'bscan' your old volumes.

CentOS and bacula
Hi list,
I've a bacula system based on disk volume that I need to refresh (new
install). There is a way to mantain the "current status" (volumes,
catalog and other if needed) when migrating the system to a new
installation?
Thanks in advance

Bacula in CentOS 5
Hi all,
I'm planning to use Bacula in production environment. I've seen the
Bacula packages are not provided neither by any official repo nor any
third popular repo (as rpmforge).
?Anyone use bacula in CentOS 5?

bacula rpm --rebuild on x86_64?
I tried to install the latest bacula last night, rebuilding from the
source rpm ... this is the command line I used, following the
instructions at bacula.org:
# rpmbuild --rebuild --define "build_centos4 1" \
--define "build_x86_64 1" --define "build_mysql4 1" bacula-1.39.26-1.src.rpm
but the rebuild fails, citing all sorts of dependencies being
required. problem

Bacula 9.4.1 Dbdriver issue
Hi list,
I created my rpm for Bacula 9.4.1 reading centos srpm spec files. I made
a single package and not split in several packages because this is my
first rpm so I created my spec file taking a cue from bacula-5.3 spec file.
All works as intended, an rpm was created and installed without any not
fixable issue.
After installing my bacula rpm I run a test to see if all works as
expected.

Bacula backup system
On c7 I can't find mod_perl.
Configuring bacula client requires only few lines...with bacula you need
only bacula pkgs and one database. With backuppc there are different
services to install and configure...some external to centos base. In c7,
without mod_perl I must run cgi with suid...
Ok bacula is more complex (complexity I mean for its configuration) but It
is better organized and less

CentOS 5 sshd does not log IP address of reverse mapping failure
I'm running a mix of CentOS 5 and 6 servers reachable by ssh
from the Internet. Of course I allow only public key authentication
and no root login. In addition I'm running fail2ban to block
obnoxious brute force attack sources.
On CentOS 6 this is working pretty well, but on CentOS 5 there's
one class of attacks fail2ban fails to ban. (No pun intended.)
This isn't fail2ban's
