RPM SPEC rebuild errors
Hello All, I have been trying all afternoon to rebuild the Samba RPM for my Fedora 3 with the MySQL passdb support and from what I can see it only needs the inclusion of "--with-expsam=mysql" in the SPEC file in addition to the regular ones. The problem is that no matter what version of Samba I try to rebuild, it always gice an error at the same place:

Building source rpms does not build all the rpms.
I just downloaded the 2.2.4-2 src.rpm file from samba.org and installed and compiled on my intel-redhat 7.2 system. When I changed to /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386 I found only i386/samba-2.2.4-2.i386.rpm in it. There was no other rpms, even though the spec file says there will be. Here's the last few lines of the build output, I only see two rpms being created.

version GLIBC_2.0 not defined in file libpthread.so.0
I just installed EMC PowerPath 5.0.0 and Navisphere Agent and CLI on a CentOS 4.4/x86_64 system. When I try to start naviagent, I get the error below. Before upgrading to CentOS4.4, this same system had RHEL3 ES for x86_64 on it, and the same problem was encountered. I spent weeks going back and forth with EMC tech support, but the problem was never resolved. I'm hoping someone here on this

Lost Acroread and flash plugin
Since the upgrade to AdobeReader_enu-9.1.0-1.i486.rpm and flash-plugin-10.0.22.87-release.i386.rpm, I have lost these in firefox. And Adobe Reader is not even on my Gnome Applications panel, I have to run it from a terminal window. Perhaps this has been covered, but how do I get these back?

Acroread9 crash in CentOS7
Hello, I'm getting a crash with acroread on my CentOS7 (AdobeReader_enu-9.5.5-1.i486). I install the official rpms from ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/unix/, tried 9.5.5, and former v9, v8, v7. /usr/bin/acroread loads well, but when you click a menu, bang. Same if you start acroread w/ a .pdf filename in parameter, the window opens up then crashes. I modified the acroread script to

R INSTALL: problem related to LD_LIBRARY_PATH
Well, I've found that the line in INSTALL that gives the problem is gzip -dc "${1}" | (cd "${tmpdir}" && tar -xf -) ("tar: /usr/local/lib/libpthread.so.0: version `GLIBC_2.2' not found (required by /lib/librt.so.1)") If I run that command from the shell, i.e., gzip -dc KernSmooth_2.22-7.tar.gz | (cd /tmp/R.INSTALL.2186 && tar -xf -) it runs

problems with java under debian (including the R help page search engine)
Dear List: this is a problem that affects my use of R under Debian, but is a problem with using the Java virtual machine. I am turning to this list, since I am hoping someone might have more experience with trying to figure out why Java does not work under Debian than I do. I apologize in advance for trying to exploit list knowledge for a problem that is only tangential to the list. I am
