Adding 4000 Lines to asteriskdb via asterisk -rx ?
Hi there,
I want to add 4000 Callerids and Callernames to my asterisk-db.
(/var/lib/asterisk/astdb)
I do not want an external database or an sql-database because I do
not want asterisk to depend on external processes.
However, when I do 4000 "database put number name" via a shellscript
and "asterisk -rx" I only have 600 entries later in my asterisk-
database. The asterisk

Reading/Writing the Astdb
All;
I have a question regarding the Astdb. When reading more than a few values, it can
take quite a while to grab several
values in the astdb using say, asterisk -rx "database show" >
output.txt and work with that and then set a new value such as asterisk
-rx "database put $key $value". The whole process can take over 1
second for EACH ENTRY which adds up for more than a

TCPServer in 1.9.2
Hi. First post in this group and I hope someone can help.
I am trying to teach myself Ruby with a long-term goal of doing some
web development using Ruby on Rails.
Note: version
C:\rails\hello>ruby -v
ruby 1.9.2p290 (2011-07-09) [i386-mingw32]
I have been going through Jeremy McAnally''s book "Mr. Neighborly’s
Humble Little Ruby Book" and there is a section in chapter 5

Does acts_as_attachment :storage => :db_system work?
I found the post about needing to install acts_as_attachement_1_1_6 if
you are not on edge rails. But I am having trouble getting db_system
storage to work. As far as I can tell in from the database, things are
working, but I don''t see how my model table hooks up with the db_files
table so I am having trouble altering the image_tag from the tutorial

dovecot, vpopmail and djb's tcpserver
Hello!
I've tried to set up dovecot in conjuction with vpopmail, and running it
under djb's tcpserver instead of (x)inetd.
Btw - there was no reference to setting dovecot up using (x)inetd either in
the manuals/faqs i read, though I didn't search all that hard. Anyway, back
to my Q:
vpopmail uses vchkpw as an authentication mechanism, and with tcpserver I
can do relaycontrol (based

Ok, I've given up
Sigh,
In the interest of moving forward on this project I've given up trying to
get Dovecot to support mailboxes, rather I've tweaked around in qmail and
had it deliver into a mail directory on a disk, that isn't NFS mounted. That
got me past the various locking complaints and "operation not supported" on
home directories that were mounted from the NetApp filer.

Using image_tag and send_data
I am using image_tag to load an image that I''ve saved to the database
(using attachment_fu if you''re curious but that''s probably not
relevant here):

CONTROLLER
def get_image
@photo=Photo.find(params[:id])

[PATCH] fix -elf2flt usage for bfin-uclinux
There are multiple problems with the elf2flt usage in the configure script:
- clobbers LDFLAGS
- is used for all targets so breaks non-FLAT targets
- is only used for Blackfin FLAT targets

A nicer and gentler form of spawner
I was working on deploying an app with switchtower, and I really
dislike the way spawner is implemented. The way it will relaunch the
dispatcher all the time just to let it die if the port is in use is
too brute force for my taste.
As we''re in a ruby script, why not let ruby find out if the port is in
use? Using the TCPServer class we can try and bing to the port. If we
succeed, it means

mongrel_upload_progress and attachment_fu
Can one use mongrel_upload_progress in combination with attachment_fu
(db_file)?
I wan''t to store uploaded files directly in a mysql-database - not in
the filesystem.
Is there a way to use mongrel_upload_progress to do this, or do I have
to store
files in the filesystem and copy them to the database?
Thanx

[Patch] HttpServer.port reports the bound port
This is for when you pass mongrel 0 for the port and the OS assigns
an open one.

Hello. I'm having the following problem with dovecot 1.0.12 and above,
on a FreeBSD 7.0 system - I'm trying to run pop3-login from inetd and I

[PATCH] perl: Don't embed API number in Sys::Guestfs.
It means you have to rerun `make -C perl clean ; make' every time you
add an API, and is useless anyway.

non-traditional rails app
I''d like to convert some simple, general ruby scripts I have into rails
apps just for testing purposes. Many of these apps are not DB driven, so
the whole CRUD concept does not apply to them... here''s a sample:
require ''socket''
server = TCPServer.new(''12345'')
while (session = server.accept)
Thread.new(session) do |this_session|

Searching for Nodes
Hello All,
I''m reviewing switching to puppet from chef and am trying to identify how
to port the various features.
I have hit a stumbling block searching for nodes. In Chef i could search
for a node by role, but I am lost as how to do this with puppet and classes.
Example:
I want my load-balancing node to look for all application server nodes and
grab their ip address (and hostname

inetd/xinetd/tcpserver support
I was just thinking how they could be easily supported. This would work,
right? :
imap stream tcp nowait root /usr/sbin/tcpd /usr/local/libexec/dovecot/imap-login
imaps stream tcp nowait root /usr/sbin/tcpd /usr/local/libexec/dovecot/imap-login --ssl
imap-login would try to connect to master process using some named
socket. If it couldn't, it would create the master process itself.
