c6 xen guest install, golf, and geany
List, Is it possible to do a text install (<512RAM) of C6 server, with support for X11 forwarding over ssh, and get geany (editor) to work over ssh? I got X11 forwarding to work when I have a full Xfce desktop, but not with a server setup. I would like to golf this... IOW find the minimum number of packages. Any hints or kickstart configs for the needy? -- Mark

Install C7 VM on C6 Host
I would think the same as Gordon that as long as your 64-bit VM virtualization is running properly there should be no problem running C7 on a VM running under C6. May I ask what the initial doubt was based upon? Has anybody out there had such an issue before? Cheers, Boris. Xen4CentOS python-virtinst version issue, blktap2 problem
Hello, It seems currently when you "yum update" CentOS 6.6 Xen host you end up getting python-virtinst from c6 base repo: python-virtinst-0.600.0-24.el6.noarch and not from Xen4CentOS repo, because the version there is "older": 0.600.0-19. .. which means the centos/xen-specific patch in python-virtinst is "lost". (default to tap2 instead of tap1, to make blktap2

[PATCH] Differentiate 'distro' and 'distrofamily' in Sys::Guestfs::Lib
Change distro in the output formally known as virt-inspector to reflect the actual distro. Possible values are now: fedora, rhel, centos, scientific, debian. Add new distrofamily entry which is one of: redhat, debian. Currently all distros except 'debian' are in the redhat family. This allows you to, for example, select a RHEL/CentOS/Scientific Linux specific kernel for installation

[PATCH] Replace 'distrofamily' with feature tags
It turns out that the distribution hierarchy is not as reliable concept as you might think. This patch removes distrofamily again. Instead of distrofamily, we will add feature tags. This patch adds 2 feature tags for Linux distributions: package_format (eg rpm/dpkg) package_management (eg rhn/yum/apt) This change is reflected in the output of virt-inspector --- inspector/virt-inspector.pl |
