Issues to manage RAM on openvz guests
Hi all,
I'm playing with virsh, and I succeed to mange easily some KVM nodes.
But I have issues to size RAM of openvz guests.
virsh set by default the the memory to 256M on each guest instead of that I
specify in the XML
I have to modify by end the variable PHYSPAGES on each
/etc/vz/conf/id_of_my_vz.conf
Please follow the XML dump and the steps that I did.
Cheers,Aurelien

ifname in openvz container
Hi!
Is there any way to specify ethernet device name to be created inside
the openvz container?
I could find such info at http://libvirt.org/formatdomain.html#elementsNICS.
If I do as below I get br0 as ethernet device inside VM whereas I'd like
it to be eth0.
$ cat ovz.xml
<domain type='openvz' id='144'>
<name>144</name>

With that kind of load, your users shall start complaining about choppy
audio or voice clarity on random occasions, and you wont have a clue where
to look for the problem.

As long as you don't overload the server it works great. I've used

OpenVZ with asterisk 13
I have several large customers (200+ extensions) running on vSphere without
issue. Not sure about OpenVZ, thought.

OpenVZ with asterisk 13
Dear Mitul,
I already told my boss about it, I really want a single box, no virtual,
but my boss insist.
He said that openvz use less resource then KVM (or other virtual for cloud).
I really need a solid analysis to argue with him.
On the other hand, dahdi cannot be installed in openvz virtual server.
I dont have any experience with openvz at all.
Thx,

[PATCH] virt-what.in: Added VMware virt detection using cpuid in wrapper script
Brief discussion thread - http://lkml.org/lkml/2010/6/29/355
Added VMware detection via cpuid.Mimic'd VMware's balloon driver's init-time
check(cpuid followed by dmi-checks). Moved the existing logic into a simple
function to achieve that.
Tested virt-what.in(ran as a script) and virt-what-cpuid-helper within
a Linux guest on ESX. Thanks.

Hi,
I'm trying to install rh ipa server on centos 5.2. i downloaded the
srpms and built them on centos 5.2. they installed perfectly (via yum
localinstall to handle the dependencies).
While going through the ipa-server-install script, while starting,
ns-slapd seg faults. i did some digging and when i turned on debugging
for ns-slapd, here is what i found out:

Running OpenVz inside Xen
Hi,
Let us say that I have a VT enabled Xen virtualization system with the ability to run unmodified kernels. So can I run OpenVz inside one of the Guest Oses? Theoretically I can''t find a reason why OpenVz cannot run inside Xen, since Xen provides full virtualization of the resources, but I just need to make sure.
Thanks.

OpenVZ with asterisk 13
Dear all,
Is anyone has experience making Asterisk server with virtual server OPEN-VZ
(in proxmox 3.4 box) ?
My boss want to build a production server with it, and it will have +/- 300
sip user (concurrent call maybe < 150 call)
Is it good to go, or not ?
I really hope someone who have experience with it willing to share with
me...
Thanks in advance...

Class dependency question
So I have two classes for openvz setup. The first is openvz::setup
and it sets up the box for OpenVZ.. then another class (in same .pp
file) called openvz::master sets up the config for the main system (as
opposed to a VE). The error I see is that the openvz::master class is
executed (and fails) becuase it doesn''t seem to load up the setup
class?
debug: Calling puppetmaster.getconfig

Support live migration of OpenVZ container
Hi libvirt team,
I was trying to migrate an OpenVZ domain from one host to another host. It
seems that the live migration of OpenVZ container is there (
https://openvz.org/Migration_from_one_HN_to_another), but it haven't been
integrated to libvirt yet. In particular, I ran the following commands and
it failed:
$ sudo virsh migrate --live --verbose --undefinesource 101 openvz+ssh://
