Kickstart network issues

Basically I have hit a problem that I cannot figure out at this point and seemed to have ran out of ideas via Google or the

Xen 4.4.3 packages available in virt6-xen-44-testing
So first of all, if you've used the CBS before, please note the name change -- it's no longer virt6-testing, but virt6-xen-44-testing. Easiest way to install: rpm -ivh http://cbs.centos.org/repos/virt6-xen-44-testing/x86_64/os/Packages/centos-release-xen-7-7.el6.x86_64.rpm This will set up yum repositories for both the eventual release repositories (enabled by default), and the

how to enable auto-start on newer versions of Xen ?
Hello, In days past, all I had to do was create /etc/xen/auto and put a symlink in there to the config file for each VM I wanted to have started automatically. Since updating to 4.6, this doesn't work.? Period. I'm having a hard time finding what needs to change in order to get VMs to auto start on reboot of a server.? Can someone please point me to documentation that I have missed

how to install standard software on systems with heterogeneous hardware?
I've been thinking about ways to proceed if I need to set up 5 machines with basically identical software but somewhat variable hardware. A simple approach would be to just set up my golden system and clone the disk, but the hardware differences would probably cause problems. One approach that appeals to me is to install minimal centos on the first system, add a few rpms after installation,

CentOS 6 and pxeboot
Well, I started the install, got pxeboot to get to the kickstart file, formatted the drive... and then it failed, telling me "unable to read group information from repositories. This is a problem with the generation of your install tree." A quick google gives me the first hit from a year ago, bug 4372 <http://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=4372>, which says there's a metadata

RAID Hot Spare
I've googled this question without a great deal of information. Monday I'm rebuilding a Linux server at work. Instead of purchasing 3 drives for this system I purchased 4 with intent to create a hot spare. Here is my usual setup which I'll do again but with a hot spare for each partion. Create /dev/md0 mount point /boot RAID1 3 drives with 1 hot spare Create two more raid setups

cobbler installation of CentOS-5.5
I'm trying to install CentOS-5.5 on my new HP micro-server, which has no CD drive. I've set up cobbler and cobbler-web on my old server, and can access cobbler-web from my laptop. I have 3 queries about the installation. 1. Is there any advantage is using the 64-bit CentOS rather than 32-bit? 2. The CentOS OS seems to be available in 7 or 8 CDs. (I tried downloading the DVD ISO with

Desktop for newbies
Folks I'm about to set up a non-root user on a Centos=7 server that I control for a friend. It is in his home, so access is local. He's a refugee from the latest Windows 10 Upgrade. I'd like a suggestion as to which of the several possible graphical desktops to suggest to him and set up for him as his default. My aim is: - Allow him to try out Linux as an end-user - Let him

Garbled screen after RAM Scrub on boot
Dear All I am using Centos 7 with Xen 4.6 on a Dell Poweredge T430 When the machine boots, after the 'Scrubbing Free RAM' message, I get a screen filled with little white squares until the login prompt, so I cannot see what is happening as the machine boots. My vote is still for KDE It's got a similar feel to Windows before it went pear shaped at Win8. It's fairly easy to use. He should be able to do most stuff as a user. Has anyone been able to start a Fedora 16 VM in Xen PV?
All, I've had a heck of a time getting Fedora 16 to run as a guest VM under CentOS 5.7 host as a paravirtualized Xen guest. I believe the issue has something to do with Fedora 16 using grub2... When I attempt to start the VM (via xm create), I get this error: Using config file "/etc/xen/fedora-workstation". Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/pygrub",
