check_hotplug fails on one of my machines running ubunto 4.10 "Warty Warhog", due to misparsing the udevinfo version string. The problem is caused by an old version of sed that does not appreciate the regexp. This patch fixes it, and also works on debian unstable and SLES9SP2. Please apply... I'm looking to do a bit more monitoring of my 3ware 9550 with smartd, and wanted to see what others were doing with smart for monitoring 3ware hardware. Do you have the smartd.conf configured to test, or simply monitor health status? Are you monitoring the drive as centos sees it (/dev/sdX) or are you using the 3ware /dev/twaX for monitoring? CentOS Community, What commands can I use to check the disk health of the system when LVM2 is being used on top of a RAID 10 using a HARDWARE 3ware raid card. The OS sees a hardware raid usually as one big drive. Is there a way to check the disks individually to see if any are failing, or throwing hard or scsi transport errors?

Hi All, I have a WD RE4-GP which dropped an Adaptec 51645 RAID controller. I ran a smartctl short test on the drive and it failed with a read error. So I ran the Western Digital's own diagnostic software (DLGDIAG), both the short and extended test on the drive and it passed with no errors.
