Mirror hosting ideas
Hello all, I am interested in personally hosting a mirror for CentOS 5 and 6 (not at home, but in a DC, with the future of going colo whe I have the monetary funds to do so). Would anyone have any recommendations on this and whether or not I should set the cron to use the rsync command or have the rsync command in a batch file and tell cron to execute the batch job. I am thinking the second

Performance of madvise / msync
Hi, I'm using py-rrdtool 0.2.1 with rrdtool 1.3.0 under 7.0-STABLE, and there's a couple of things about this new version of rrdtool that hurt performance under FreeBSD, but apparently help on whatever they tested on. For every update, the database file is opened, mapped into memory, madvise() is called, contents are modified, msync() is called, and the file is unmapped and closed:

Shared folder (namespace) access hanging
Hi, I'm using Dovecot 1.0-b8. We use a shared 'support' account for incoming support mail. For security reasons we want to instead have everyone with their own account, accessing a shared 'support' folder. So I've configured dovecot with a public 'Support' namespace: default_mail_env = maildir:/imap/mailboxes/%u namespace private { separator = / prefix =

RMySQL's column limit
Dear R-users, First, thank you to the developers for the very useful R-library RMySQL. While using this library a recieved an error message: RS-DBI driver: (could not run statement: Too many columns) The statement that generated the error was: dbWriteTable(dbcon, "simdataseries", template, overwrite = TRUE, row.names = FALSE ) I am assuming this is a RMySQL rather than MySQL limit.

Scheduling migration for wiki.centos.org
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, As I received positive feedback from testers (thank you all !) on the wikitesting.centos.org moin instance, I think we can say that we'll migrate the real wiki.centos.org very soon ... I'm actually moving some services around (pdns/msync roles) to free a machine that will be able to host the moin/wiki role. Depending on the available

LLVM Developers/Users Meetup and Event Planning in Sydney (Update)
Hi llvm-dev, I've been hosting and organising the LLVM Developers/Users meetup in Sydney for the past few months now, and recently (May 2nd, 2018) we met up to plan the next few meetups and start a discussion about a larger event sometime around October 2018.
