reinventing the wheel? page checker
Not sure if there is an app like this yet. I want to keep tabs on my web applications and thought of using a 'page checker'/ I was thinking either running a sum on the directory or each file...but thinking a simple date check would be fine. The idea is web application, except the uploads area for photos, never has changes to its files except when I change it. However, if it gets

Server patching DC stopped working
Hello, I have been running Samba4 on a Ubuntu 12.10 for a few months. Using this setup script, I have also been using PBIS (Open-wise 7.1) to connect Linux clients to it. I have has this setup for serveral months. Now if I connect to a windows computer I get access denied and it still works on linux via PBIS. If I login to the windows computer with a local account, I can

Introduction / Edit group access for HowTos/SELinux
Hi, Wiki username is: GaryTierney I'd like to add some additional content to the HowTos/SELinux wiki page. More specifically: additional tips on troubleshooting SELinux problems using setools-console and audit utils, using Role-Based Access Control instead of the default unconfined user configuration, and some pointers on authoring local policies (some content specifically for the new

A few easy dpkg optimizations for supermin
I have done some printf profiling and found that supermin's calls to dpkg for individual packages are quite expensive. Here are some patches that gather all information on demand where possible. On my Debian/unstable-based workstation at home, preparing a minimal appliance using $ ./supermin --use-installed --prepare bash -o supermin.d now takes ~3.5s (previously ~15s). Turning that

SEtroubleshootd Crashing
I'll jump in here to say we'll try your suggestion, but I guess what's not been mentioned is that we get the setroubleshoot abrt's only a few times a day, but we're getting 10000s of setroubleshoot messages in /var/log/messages a day. e.g. Dec 2 10:03:55 server audispd: queue is full - dropping event Dec 2 10:04:00 server audispd: last message repeated 199 times Dec 2

[PATCH 0/2] supermin: use librpm for rpm support
Hi, this work makes supermin use the rpm library instead of invoking rpm directly. This, together with a needed refactoring of the dependency resolution, should help in make supermin faster on rpm-based systems. Surely the patches will still need polishing, especially for behaviours of newly added stuff, but at least it's a good starting point. Noting that you need rpm-devel on most of rpm

SEtroubleshootd Crashing
Indeed, thanks Dan - it doesn't get us to a completely clean running that would allow us to run our Node app as we are under Passenger with SELinux enforcing, but it at least has stopped the excessive amount of AVCs we were getting.
