Coding standards and whitespace
Recently as a result of using Git I''ve noticed a number of
inconsistencies in the RSpec codebase with respect to whitespace
(mixed line endings, mixed use of spaces and tabs for indentation,
and trailing whitespace at the end of lines). I never would have
noticed, but Git produces nice colorized diff output which highlights
these kinds of inconsistencies.
I wanted to ask if the

problems with textmate and rspec bundle
Folks,
I saw David''s tutorial yesterday at RailsConf and started working on
RSpec lastnight and am having a *ton* of trouble with the bundle for
TextMate. I''ve made *some* progress, but thought I''d throw it to the
list
* I run ruby, including rb-rubygems using the MacPorts install (per
JDD''s Sandboxing Rails)
* installed rspec 0.9.4 (also rcov 0.8.0.2 and

Can''t run RSpec files in TextMate
Hi
Not sure if this is the place to ask this or not. I''ve upgraded to
RSpec 1.0.5, installed the latest TextMate bundle, but whenever I do
"Run Behaviour Descriptions in selected files/directories" I get this:
/Users/ashleymoran/Library/Application Support/TextMate/Pristine Copy/
Bundles/RSpec.tmbundle/Support/lib/spec_mate.rb:18:in `run_files'':

ANN: RSpec 0.9.0 beta-1 available for download.
We''d like to get some feedback on RSpec 0.9 before we start pushing
out releases via Rubyforge''s gem server and update the website. We
have therefore made the first beta of 0.9 available - both prepackaged
and tagged in subversion (see below).
RSpec 0.9 introduces a new API for expectations, which essentially
means that your underscores go away (there has been other discussions

TextMate Bundle and exception when switching to alternate file.
Hey,
sorry if this is something better suited to another list.
I''ve encountered a strange problem with the RSpec.tmbundle in trunk -
namely that it was raising an exception when pressing
ctrl-shift-downarrow (switch between spec and source - "Alternate
File").
I tracked down the issue to be handling of the file_type in
switch_command.rb#content_for() - the code expected the

TextMate language weirdness
I''m having trouble with TextMate and assigning the RSpec language to
*_spec.rb files within rails projects. Here is what is happening:
I''m in a file that has the language "Ruby on Rails" selected.
I do a ctrl-shift-down to switch to the corresponding _spec.rb file.
The _spec.rb file has the language "Ruby on Rails" selected.
I change the language to

Rspec Textmate bundle errors
Hello all,
Having a problem with the Rspec textmate bundle and having quizzed
the guys in #textmate to no success about the errors, I''ve been
suggested to try you guys!
When I run the "Run Behaviour Description" command, I get the
following errors:

Controller specs not shareable?
Hi
I just wondered if there was a reason why Rails controller specs are
not shareable? eg
describe "All XHR POSTs to /gap/calculate_quote", :shared => true do
controller_name :gap
# ...
end
describe "XHR POST /gap/calculate_quote with valid details" do
it_should_behave_like "All XHR POSTs to /gap/calculate_quote"
# ...
end

Focused Specs/Tests in Non-Textmate editors
Hello,
I wrote a script that runs a focused spec/test from the filename and line
number.
I bound this to an external tool in my Idea environment.

Problems with Texmate Rails bundle
I can''t use any of the go to file commands, apparently. If I use any
of the key commands (cmd+shift+opt+down, cmd+opt+down) nothing
happens. When I access the commands from the menu with ctrl+^ and
choose "Go to Alternate File" it just switches between the controller
and view without presenting a drop down menu. Choosing "Intelligent
Go To File" in a view sticks

drbspec - "no server running"
At times I''ve gotten the message "No Server Running" from drbspec
with my rails app. The thing is, the drb server certainly is running!
This happened a few times with my model specs. I''m not sure exactly
what the problem was there - I believe I was loading up fixtures that
didn''t exist. I was calling fixtures :singular_table_name as opposed

DRb error when using rails_spec on OS X
Hi, all-
I started playing with RSpec in a new Rails app. I''ve installed the
plugin and bootstrapped it, and run ''script/rails_spec_runner'' (not
rails_spec_server as the website currently reads, btw) in a separate
shell, then in another shell I run ''script/rails_spec'' and get the
following:

Pretty story output for non-Rails project
I''m taking my first fledgling steps driving a new ruby (non-rails)
project with BDD. I''ve got a (test) story working. However, when I
run the story in TextMate (via command-r), the output is plain text.
See: http://skitch.com/georgeanderson/8grg/run-examples
How do I get the output to look pretty (formatted)?

OS X 10.5.2

[Cucumber, TextMate Bundle] Call for help
Hey all,
As some of you may know I created the Cucumber TextMate bundle:
http://github.com/bmabey/cucumber-tmbundle/tree/master
What most of you probably don''t know is that I stopped using TextMate
(in favor of Vim) several months ago. Since then the Cucumber bundle
has been somewhat neglected by me and I''ve mostly pulled in patches and
regenerated the syntax for new

Problems running RSpec from w/in TextMate
Hello everyone, I''m new to RSpec, and pretty much Ruby in general. I am
trying to run RSpec from within TextMate to get the nice-looking GUI
that lists my specs and whatnot. It runs fine from the command line,
but when I run it from TextMate, I get the following error (I am working
with a Rails application):

rSpec (rev 2996), Rails (rev 8214): TextMate bundle problems
Hey guys,
I''m trying to get rSpec (rev 2996) working with Rails 2 (rev 8214).
Running the tests from the command line works, no problem.
I installed the RSpec.tmbundle (also rev 2996), and would like to see
the HTML test results in TextMate. When I run the "Run examples in
selected files/directories" command in TextMate, I get the following

Textmate Bundle Errors
Hi,
Running #rake spec seems to work as expected, however using cmd+r in
textmate does not. I assume Textmate has some specific references to
rails or ruby which I have not set.
I have set the TM_RUBY to /usr/local/bin/ruby as suggested in the RSpec
docs.
I am running OS X 10.5 with a manually compiled ruby 1.8.6 (2007-03-13
patchlevel 0) [i686-darwin8.10.1] and gem 0.9.4. This was installed
