In the new installation, I editted the shorewall config files, copying over my rules, masq entries, policies, etc to each new file. Shorewall startup goes thru fine. Today I switched between

ntsysv and chkconfig update error
We have a couple of CentOS 7 boxes that were built before I was hired to clean up the kickstart script used for C7 boxes. We had a couple of rpm packages that were pre-C7 that were used and setup the old SysV Init way using ntsysv and chkconfig on these boxes. (I finally fixed that in the newer scripts.) These are out in the field and I'm having to deal with them as they are. One thing

rsyslog as default syslog daemon?
Hi all! Is anybody here using rsyslog? I am looking for the right solution how to use rsyslog in CentOS 5 as the default logging daemon. We use it because of filtering using regular expressions. I switched from sysklogd to rsyslog simply using chkconfig --del syslog chkconfig --add rsyslog chkconfig rsyslog on service syslog stop service rsyslog start but this seems not to be

sssd run level get turned off automagically
CentOS 6.5 (AMD64) LDAP DS: via SSSD When I did the OS installation (client site), I had turned the service ON with 'chkconfig sssd on' and 'chkconfig sssd --list' showed that it was ON However, whenever the server has been 'hard' rebooted, 'service sssd status' shows that it is not running. 'chkconfig sssd --list' shows it is OFF! I don't

CentOS 6.0 chkconfig strange behavior
Hi, I'm noticing some strangeness with chkconfig on CentOS 6.0 and was looking for a bit of advice. It appears that chkconfig is re sequencing or re ordering the start priority of various services when turning on a service using chkconfig. Example is the network service. Under normal circumstances network is set to start at S10. However when I add something like snmpd and invoke chkconfig

Multiple auth mechinisms
From the WIki features page, ( http://wiki.dovecot.org/moin.cgi/CoreFeatures ) it's not clear to me if the dovecot-stable release supports multiple authentications mechanisms (like in 1.0-testxx). I need both virtual domains and system users. Can I use the stable release for this? Thanks, --Micha

print data.frame with a list column
I have a data.frame with one column as a list. When printing (or using knitr::kable) the list gets truncated. Is there some option to force printing the full list? MWE: df <- data.frame("name" = "A", "bands" = I(list(1:20))) > print(df) name bands 1 A 1, 2, 3,.... I'd like to avoid the ellipsis in "bands" column, rather print all list

chkconfig question
In the docs for chkconfig it says: <startlevellist> is a list of the runlevels for which the service should be started by default. Only services which are really required for a vital system should define runlevels here. If no runlevels are defined, a - should be used in place of the runlevels list. and then: More commonly, the service is off by default on all runlevels, which looks like

Problem with ACLs
Hi, i want to use unix groups in my ACLs. http://wiki2.dovecot.org/ACL says, I can do that with a post-login script (http://wiki2.dovecot.org/PostLoginScripting).
