[PATCH 3/9] drm/i915/selftests: Annotate struct perf_series with __counted_by
Prepare for the coming implementation by GCC and Clang of the __counted_by
attribute. Flexible array members annotated with __counted_by can have
their accesses bounds-checked at run-time checking via CONFIG_UBSAN_BOUNDS
(for array indexing) and CONFIG_FORTIFY_SOURCE (for strcpy/memcpy-family
functions).
As found with Coccinelle[1], add __counted_by for struct perf_series.

[PATCH v2 3/6] drm/i915: Leave intel_conn->mst_port set, use mst_port_gone instead
Currently we set intel_connector->mst_port to NULL to signify that the
MST port has been removed from the system so that we can prevent further
action on the port such as connector probes, mode probing, etc.
However, we're going to need access to intel_connector->mst_port in
order to fixup ->best_encoder() so that it can always return the correct
encoder for an MST port to prevent

[PATCH 1/2] drm/i915: constify pointers to hwmon_channel_info
Statically allocated array of pointed to hwmon_channel_info can be made
const for safety.
Signed-off-by: Krzysztof Kozlowski <krzysztof.kozlowski at linaro.org>

This depends on hwmon core patch:
https://lore.kernel.org/all/20230406203103.3011503-2-krzysztof.kozlowski at linaro.org/
Therefore I propose this should also go via hwmon tree.

Using i915/i945 XvMc in Theora
Hi,
Intel has recently open sourced otion compensation code (XvMC) for
their i915/i945 integrated graphics chips.
See:
http://gitweb.freedesktop.org/?p=xorg/driver/xf86-video-intel.git;a=blob;hb=xvmc-i915;f=src/xvmc/I915XvMC.c
XvMC API was intended for MPEG{2,4} class of codecs - so it can not be
used for Theora as-is. However, could at least some parts of it such as
hardware accelerated

How to disable i915 module
I am setting up CentOS 7 on my new firewall. This will run as a head-
less system, accessed via a serial console when necessary. It's only a
2GB system, so I don't see any reason to have the GPU consuming any of
the RAM.
I've blacklisted the i915, drm, and drm_kms_helper modules and rebuilt
the initramfs, but the i915 module is still being loaded.
Anyone know what might be loading

[PATCH] master-compat: Compile i915 DRM for out-of-tree. Optimus laptops need it.
Hi, a machine with both an Intel and Nvidia GPU needs both drivers built
as modules otherwise the former will not work properly.

reason for bad performance on i915 (AIGLX)
Greetings everybody!
For about two weeks I'm now a happy owner of an intel-powered laptop
(chipset, wifi, gfx) and wanted to give it a full test-drive of compiz
and other GL-intensive programs.
The laptop runs Xorg 7.1.1 and the i810 driver that comes with it
(stock rpm from FC6). I'm forced to start compiz 0.3.4 with these
options...
--use-cow
--strict-binding
--indirect-rendering

i915 DRM enabled in X.org log but not in glxinfo
Hi,
Just to say that this report may well seem a little sparse, but I
really don't know what exactly to look for so if anybody needs extra
information just shout and I will get it for you ASAP.
When I check the X.org log file, it says direct rendering: enabled on
my graphics device (it attaches its i810 driver to the kernel's i915
DRM device). This would appear to me to suggest that
