Booting CentOS 6 in VirtualBox on Ubuntu
I trying to try out CentOS 6 in an Oracle VirtualBox running on
Ubuntu. Has anyone been able to get this configuration working?
When I try to boot the "Live" ISO it starts to do the countdown but
when it reaches zero it gets stuck - nothing else happens. No error
messages and since the install never really gets going, no logs.
I've checked the mailing list archive back a few

Quota system over NFS
I've been trying to implement the quota system for a Linux cluster. I'm
trying it out on a mini-cluster of 4 CentOS 6.3 VMs. I've named them:
lion-login
lion-sn1
lion-cn01
lion-cn02
All nodes are on the virtual subnet 192.168.56.0/24. lion-sn1 (storage
node 1) is the NFS server and the other three nodes are the NFS clients.
/etc/exports on lion-sn1:
/home 192.168.56.0/24(rw)

trouble installing centos 6.8
Dear all,
I'm having trouble installing Centos 6.8, in a VM using VirtualBox, and
hoping that someone on this distribution can help.
I'm running VirtualBox Version 5.1.4 r110228 (Qt5.5.1).
I downloaded .iso files for Centos 6.8:
- CentOS-6.8-x86_64-bin-DVD1.iso
- CentOS-6.8-x86_64-bin-DVD2.iso
I proceeded to set up a new VM, selecting Linux / RedHat 64 bit. I
selected the DVD1 iso

CentOS 6.2 and VirtualBox 4.1.8
Okay, I go through the install and it reboots, but I have no Network
(using the "Bridged Adapter"). Think I've run into a Catch-22. Now
I'm trying to "Install Guest Additions" and it requires the
"kernel-devel". Okay, not I'm trying to mount the DVD1 (iso), but linux
is showing it as empty (no files). But if I mount this on a 5.7 VM, it
shows the

Systemd and VirtualBox
The continuing challenges of getting a workable server continue.
The latest spins of VirtualBox seem to have solved the issues of DKMS
auto compiles of the driver being aborted. The yum updates work as
expected, provided one stops the running vms manually first.
However, trying to get systemd to start the vms is proving to be a PITA.
I have extensively googled and found that there are no
