DNS and DHCP setup
Hi,
Does anyone know of a document that gives details on how to set up Bind
9 and DHCPD 3.x so that dns is updated when clients log on?
I saw this is not in the howto collection
(http://www.bibsyst.no/samba/docs/man/DNSDHCP.html#id2981727) so I was
kind of hoping someone else has some notes.
I would be greatfull for any tips and links.

Investigating international calls fraud
Hello,
I'm investigating a situation where there was a hundreds of minutes of
calls from an internal SIP extension to an 855 number in Cambodia,
resulting in a crazy ($25,000+) bill from the phone company. I'm
investigating, but can anyone provide some feedback on what's happened
here? I'm investigating how this happened as well as what types of
arrangements can be made with the

FXS ports on TDM410P card...
My analog card, uses a PCI slot and a 12V power connector, is configured
with 2 FXO and 2 FXS modules. I can ring handsets connected to the FXS
ports but I can't dial out from them. Is extensions.conf where I need
to make changes?

Working on docs: PRM and modules
Hi all,
Now that (I hope) I''ve fixed the problems in 0.22.2 with 0.22.3, I''m
prioritizing on documentation, since that''s the biggest complaint
from people right now, from what I can tell.
I''m starting with the introduction, since, of course, that''s where
everyone else starts, and it has not kept pace with how I talk about

Carrier Access - Access Bank I config
Hi,
Is there somebody using an Access Bank I with Asterisk that could
share the secret ingredients needed to make it work ?
I've searched around and found some info, I tryed almost every
configuration possible but I can't seem to find the right combination.
If someone could provide me with the config needed on Asterisk as well
as the dip-switch settings on the channel bank part, I would

Hi Guys,
I'm a numbie to R.
I searched the forum for plotting pdf's of functions but couldn't find one
that explained my question.
I have been asked to plot the pdf fX(x) = 1/pi(1+x^2). -infinity < x <
infinity.
I would be greatfull if someone might point me to a webpage that might give
me a hand.
Kindest regards

Transparent bridging / smart rate limiting
I''ve decided to try to make a transparent bridge, that should drop
packet''s based on some weird rules.
I have googled around a bit and couldn''t find any information about what
I would like to do.
And therefore I now send a mail to this mailinglist in hope that someone
can either help me, or point me in the right direction.
What I want to do is the following:

Speed up plotting to MSWindows graphics window
Hello,
I am working on a project analysing the performance of motor-vehicles
through messages logged over a CAN bus.
I am using R 2.12 on Windows XP and 7
I am currently plotting the data in R, overlaying 5 or more plots of
data, logged at 1kHz, (using plot.ts() and par(new = TRUE)).
The aim is to be able to pan, zoom in and out and get values from the
plotted graph using a custom Qt

Programming problem.
Hi,
I can't find a nice way to solve a problem. So if you have
some ideas I would be greatfull.
This is the problem.
I can ask a bcmxcp ups what commands it support, if the
firmware is after revision AE.
I was thinking about to use this in the driver. For example
' a ups that don't support battery_test would not have this
command enabled.'
The hex responce look like this from

You don't mention if the phone is remote, or local. Although you do mention it had a default user/pass. If the UI of the phone was/is accessible from the I'net, the GUI does have the ability to place a call from it, that is one way the calls could have been placed.

exporting an output of an analysis
Hi
I am now doing a principal component analysis for a data set. This dataset
inludes above 100 variables so the output matrix of the analysis is also
big. Because the output matrix is so huge it is a problem to use the browser
of R to look at the analysis. Therefor I want to export the solution of the
principal component analysis to another tool which better fittet for viewing

Do you have DISA setup? We're seeing lots of attackers running scripts that send digits until they strike a DISA, misconfigured mailbox, etc. (Assuming it wasn't a stupid employee forwarding an inbound call to a 9xxxxxxx number etc).
Have a look at SecAst (www.generationd.com) - it detects callers sending too many digits, monitors digit dialing speeds, etc. to help identify and block

Error with read.delim & read.csv
Hi -
I'm reading in a tab delimited file that is causing issues with
read.delim. Specifically, for a specific set of lines, the last entry
of the line is misread and considered to be the first entry of a new row
(which is then padded with 'NA's' ). Specifically:
tmp <- read.delim( "trouble.txt", header=F )
produces a data.frame, tmp where if I call tmp[,1],

"new" computers and monitors
Until recently, I had a 32-bit machine with one monitor running fedora.
The later editions of fedora didn't like it, so I switched to CentOS.
Now I have two 64-bit machines and two monitors and a CenturyLink router.
Also a KVM switch that I have not taken out of the package.
My main machine has two video connections
and two ethernet connections, eth0 and eth1 .

How to join a win2k-domain using Samba 2.*
The documentation that I found regarding this issue wasn't that good - it didn't help me that much. Later on I managed to join the win2k-domain after a lot of work. Thus I'm writing this letter in order to help people who were in my situation.
This was my problem and the solution I devised for it:
I was using samba-2.2.3a (debian package) and the windows-domain I tried to join is
