Question about how TC enforces bandwidth limiting
Hello,
I run one of my PCs as my personal router, with iptables+tc to control
traffic and be my firewall.
In TC, I use a combination of htb, qdisc and sfq (as well as prio) to
classify bandwidth. In my current setup, I have 10 classifications of my
bandwidth. (Even I admit this is probably more than I need, but at this
point I''m still learning, so I''ll just leave them be.)

Bandwidth measurement tool: bmtools
This is not specifically on-topic for Asterisk, but I have found on
many occasions while working with Asterisk that it would have been
very handy to be able to measure, with some precision, the bandwidth
being used by a particular host, port, or combination of the two.
So, I went searching for various tools, none of which were what I
wanted. They either were too clever, or too limited in

What torrent are y'all using?
I grabbed the torrent off of one of the iso mirrors, but it is coming
down so slow - I have to wonder if the torrent file is the incorrect one
for the bad file mentioned on the list earlier.
Would someone be kind enough to point me to a mirror with a known good
torrent file?

Torrent tracker for CentOS v5.3 working properly?
Hi,
Is the tracker for the 5.3-release working properly?
The only torrent I see actually downloading is CentOS-5.3-i386-bin-1to6. The
other three for the i386 DVD and ditto for x86_64 (cd+dvd) are just sitting
there. The availability and the number of connected peers in the swarm for
each torrent is rather high though.
Do torrent downloads work from a single tracker at centos.org, or are those

hello
Hello,
I am a Windows convert basically, but as a newbie, thinking of stability
and a virus free OS, and the features like that of a server, I have come
here.
Well said that I am absolutely new, I would know the things in the course
of time, since it is different from my daily job.......
Can one please let me know about the difference between the two DVD
torrents:

Bandwidth Consuming
Dear
I am too fresh, in this category.
I want to build an internet radio station, that plays,
mp3.
after, installing icecast, with ezstream, I can
listen, to my new radio station.
but there is a problem,
the bandwidth of my server was consumed, for each
listener.
for example, for only one listener, B.W=20KB/Sec, and
for 5 listener, B.W=100KB/Sec.
before it, I had another, idea about

No DVD Mirrors - Only Torrent
I love Centos. Have in on my data centre servers, my home servers, my
laptop and my netbook. Yes there are serious and continuing security
concerns relating to Gnome and KDE but they are not Centos.
Currently running 5.6 and would like a two set DVD of that version.
However none of the mirrors offer pure DVDs only Torrent versions which
involve the possibility of bits being tampered with and

IAX2 trunking: codec bandwidth comparison notes and results
2003-06-28 Bandwidth Study - John Todd (jtodd @loligo.com)
Purpose:
-------------
To obtain a better chart of actual bandwidth usage per codec as
seen "on-the-wire" when using IAX2 trunking between two Asterisk
telephony servers.
Discussion:

Past threads on the asterisk-dev and asterisk-users lists have
indicated that the optimal way to save bandwidth on

Down C6 ALL without torrent ?
Hi,
I have a machine with a BIOS that does not permit DVD installation. It
accepts everything else including some old superseded media types.
Is it possible to download C6 combined parts 1 and 2 not using Torrent ?
I have an aversion to using anything that comes from unknown sources, as
used by Torrent.
Thank you.

CentOS 5 and bittorrent
Folks. This is likely to be the hardest hit CentOS has ever taken with
regards to bandwidth needs.
I was really hesitant to use bittorrent for this type of thing for a
long time. However, it really is nice to give back at least what you
take. At the moment, I'm seeing almost 3000 connections to the torrent.
That times 3.5 gigs is a pretty huge chunk of data... and it has just begun.

metaflac problem on cygwin
wow, that was a mighty keen eye - you must really have been
looking at it (thanx!) - that is just a typo, the example just
above and below that line still show that the issue i'm having
exists.
an easy test anyone can do is:
metaflac --version
metaflac --show-sample-rate c:/any.flac
metaflac --show-sample-rate /cygdrive/c/any.flac

bandwidth calculation
Hi all,
my question:
how is the exact formula to calculate bandwidth needed to upstream at given
bitrate to a certain number of simultaneous listeners ?
is it simply BANDWIDTH (bps) = BITRATE (bps) X LISTENERS ?
tnx in advance,
carlo.

Extending metainfo class
Hi,
I`ve still posted this comment on comp.lang.ruby and after that I found
this list ;)
I`ve had some problems with a .torrent file because of unknown fields.
The file was created with: BitComet/0.56
So, I extended the metainfo class like this:
