Anonymous SIP calls
We have a FreePBX-12 / Asterisk-12 setup that supports about 24 extensions, most internal Snom870s but six or so external (Jitsi-2.8). we use TLS and SRTP everywhere on our side of the fence. The server host is a dedicated atom(tm) box using the FreePBX distro (CentOS-6.x) and is up-to-date. Registrations require very long random passwords and registrable devices are further restricted by

editing bind (DNS) configuration under CentOS 6
Hello listmates, It appears that system-config-bind has been phased out. Whatever the reasoning was behind that decision - what are we expected to do now? Edit it manually? That is doable, of course, but kind of cumbersome. Does anybody know if there is a tool we are expected to use for that purpose? Thanks. Boris.

server host keys for kvm clones
Respecting cloning vm guests, I see in /etc/ssh the following: ssh_host_dsa_key ssh_host_dsa_key.pub ssh_host_key ssh_host_key.pub ssh_host_rsa_key ssh_host_rsa_key.pub Is there a simple script somewhere to regenerate all the server host keys for the new guest after cloning? -- *** E-Mail is NOT a SECURE channel *** James B. TLS, SRTP, Asterisk11 and Snom870s
CentOS-6.5 (FreePBX-2.6) Asterisk-11.14.2 (FreePBX) snom870-SIP 8.7.3.25.5 I am having a very difficult time attempting to get TLS and SRTP working with Asterisk and anything else. At the moment I am trying to get TLS functioning with our Snom870 desk-sets. And I am not having much luck. Since this is an extraordinarily (to me) Byzantine environemnt I am going to ask if any of you have gotten

First Time Setting up RAID
Arch = x86_64 CentOS-6.4 We have a cold server with 32Gb RAM and 8 x 3TB SATA drives mounted in hotswap cells. The intended purpose of this system is as an ERP application and DBMS host. The ERP application will likely eventually have web access but at the moment only dedicated client applications can connect to it. I am researching how to best set this system up for use as a production host

Set font and size in xterm
I have a situation where gnome console does not handle vt102 escape sequences properly and therefor need to employ xterm instead. When I run xterm from a gnome terminal window I am presented with an extremely small terminal window employing an almost unreadably small font. I have attempted to set the font size using xrdb and a custom .Xresources file. I can change the colour scheme. I can

Problem with SSHD update.
This morning I applied the 13 or so new updates to my servers. On one of them the ssh service and clients stopped working immediately after the update. I restarted the server in anticipation that there might be some instability introduced by updating on a system with active ssh connections. However, this has not cleared the problem. The packages in question are: openssh.i386

lvm and kvm
I am performing some configuration testing on a kvm host. When installing a guest operating system is it advisable to place each instance in a separate lv or better to accept the default and store them on the root file system? Respecting lvm, does one configure lvs in a virtual server to take space from the main vg or does one allocate lv space from inside that allocated to the virtual instance?

Help with at Bash script
I am attempting to get a script borrowed from DJB to work on my CentOS-6.6 box. Simplified it looks like this: tcpdump -l -n -e port 53 \ | awk '{if ($14 ~ /A.*?/) print $15}' \ | while read domain ; do echo $domain ; done ; The sticking point is the 'while read' construct. Run just as 'tcpdum | awk' I get this: english.stackexchange.com. www.urbandictionary.com.
