Q: Samba AD, Pfsense, Windows 10, vpn
I only have some experience with OPNsense but maybe you can relate: - In my case it was always the certificate.? - I had to add the cert to the system certs using CLI. Adding them in the WebGUI was not enough. - Port 636 did not work for me, only 389 using STARTTLS Hope that helps... On 16. March 2020 at 08:13:50, Stefan G. Recommended SAS or SAS RAID controllers for Xen on IBM xSeries 306m with PCI-X slot
Does anyone recommend any particular SAS controller, or should I use an Ultra-320 SCSI controller instead? My machine is an IBM xSeries 306m. It has a SAS controller provided on a daughter card, but it''s not supported in the 2.6.16 kernel, so I''m looking for a separate disk controller card that will work with my existing SAS disks. -- James Holmes Programmer/SysAdmin RTDS

Hi Alexander, I'm terribly sorry. We didnt have the "ntlm auth" parameter configured on the DCs at all. I added it and it just works. Thanks for your help. Now I just need to figure out how I can make WLAN-specific LDAP-Group authentication. e. g. production WLAN needs LDAP group "wlan_production" and management WLAN needs the "wlan_management" group. I

Hi Matthias, we?re using Debian Bullseye with the backports repo. So version is a mixture of - Samba version 4.17.3-Debian - Samba version 4.17.7-Debian We?ve installed it directly on the DC?s as well. In my opinion using "ntlm auth = yes? should be fine. Did you try using a simple RADIUS secret? In my experience long secrets or ones containing special characters don?t work very well. I

Any input appreciated. Thanks, -- Rumen Telbizov Unix Systems Administrator <http://telbizov.com>

Hello Alexander, thanks Alexander for these configuration snippets. Which version of Samba are you using? Is this on debian bullseye? Is the FreeRADIUS server installed on a DC or on a Domain Member? (I just tested the latter). is "ntlm auth = yes" OK for the DCs and the domain member or does it have to be "mschapv2-and-ntlmv2-only" for all servers (DCs + Member)? It

Cisco IP Communicator with Asterisk
I'm not sure if anyone has done this before or not but, I was able get the Cisco IP Communicator soft phone to work with Asterisk using SIP. Thought I would share my experiences. The key is on the installation. To have the software use the SIP protocol type the following command: "msiexec /i CiscoIPCommunicatorSetup.msi /qb SIP=1". After installation configuration is just like

Raspberry Pi Version of Samba?
Everybody, In my case I used a RPi as an additional DC for a month or so while making some Samba4 AD improvements to the main DC's. My main DC's run on some nanopc Intel J1800 (cpu) based fanless (about 5" x 5" x 2") box's that by spec sheet draws a maximum of 15W to run on full load. As a DC they never run on full load. These boxes are actually designed to be run 24/7

OT Nice IBM 1U Server Gets Along w/Old and New Digium Boards Cheap X305 $199
Just an FYI on a great server for cheap if anyone is looking for a solid Asterisk platform. I don't work for these guys or have any affiliation, I just saw this deal and used to use these and the X306s for Asterisk deployments because they were trouble free as far as hardware, IRQs, and OS. They were ~$1,000 a couple of years ago. It is a refurb so YMMV.

TE410P PCI card in 1U rackount server
I was wondering if there is anyone following the list that has this or similar PCI cards running in a 1U server. If so, could you possibly recommend a PCI card bus adapter? I'm not sure exactly which kind I'll need. I plan on researching the different types of adapters I can purchase for my specific mobo (Supermicro X9SCA-F), but I'd like to not waste time by ordering an incorrect
