Wireless connection issue - athero 9300 pci wireless card
Hi all, I am new to CentOS. I built myself a desktop with an additional PCI wireless card 'TP-LInk WPN3800', which I have checked needs an ath9k driver. * **04:00.0 Network controller: Atheros Communications Inc. where to find wifi driver
Hi, I use the wifi adaptor, Edimax AC1200, and its driver can be downloaded from 'http://www.edimax.com.tw/edimax/download/download/data/edimax/tw/download/for_home/wireless_adapters/wireless_adapters_ac1200_dual-band/ew-7822ulc'. I fail to compile its GPL Source Code on CentOS 7.4. Where to get its rpm drivers, or how to compile its GPL Source Code? Thanks Regards Andrew

Install 6.2 via wireless
Folks I have a HP 8540w workstation, and just for kicks, I wanted to see if I could install Centos 6.2 using only the wireless connection, and the cd/dvd reader. I tried the "net-install" CD image, but it never found the wireless adaptor. How for up the chain must I go to succeed? Net-install (doesn-work) CD containing minimal DVD containing the full image? This effort was more

Recommendation for a Linux alternative to Centos - ATH9K disaster
I persuaded a reluctant friend to buy a new computer. I enthusiastically extolled the joys and benefits of Centos and promised to install it on his new machine - dual booting with Micro$oft Windoze 7. His super-duper new laptop arrived. Acer, AMD 4 core, fast etc. but not as nice looking as my impressive HP DV5. The wireless refused to connect. After 8 hours on Saturday I could sometimes see

CM8828 sound chip ??
Need a PCI-E sound card with low profile bracket, optical out, and one of those mini-din connectors that fans out into various analog connectors. Only card I have been able to find so far uses a CM8828 chipset. Looks like that chipset is natively supported by the kernel alsa driver starting in 3.17 kernel but CentOS 7 uses 3.10 kernel. I did not see a package that was obviously for that

Ices2 / Icecast2 / Long connect and no sound
Hallo, I'm trying to run two seperate live audio streams on my Redhat 8 box. I've got two sound devices that linux (begrudgingly) acknoledges. I can get Ices2 to run off of the onboard sound solution but there seems to be alot of interference, however, when I try to use the PCI-card (a C-Media chipset) it takes a lot time to connect from a remote client and there is no sound coming

Audio issue(s)
I just bought a new (refurbished) Everexe StepNote laptop with a VIA C7-M CPU and a VIA chipset, installed CentOS 5.4 on it and the audio is not working. I looked around for a sound driver for the VIA vt1708/a, which is what it claims to have (see below), but that didn't work either. Any pointers as to what I'm missing? !lpspci 04:01.0 Audio device: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT1708/A
