upgrading from CentOS 7 to 8
I searched a bit to see if there is a way to upgrade from CentOS 7 directly to CentOS 8.? I found RHEL instructions but not CentOS. ? Although they probably should be/would be similar, the instructions I found enable a rhel repository to get the leap command, which I can't seem to do in CentOS. Does anyone know if you can do an upgrade yet.? I know they had been working on it in the past.

prompt to update a host key
As far as I can tell, there currently isn't a straightforward way to use password authentication for connecting to hosts where the host key changes frequently. I realize this is a fairly niche use case, but when developing software for devices that often get reimaged (resulting in a host key change), it can get pretty tedious to attempt to connect, get a warning, remove the old host key via

Workstations and Certs
I am trying to come up with a workable solution in managing numerous Mac workstations allowing a high degree of flexibility with regards to certs. My puppet environment is setup to application installation on machines that have been ''imaged'' with a base OS and the puppet and facter apps. So, when a Mac is ''imaged'' and subsequently re-booted, puppet is run at

[PATCH][0.9] Make bool CompWindow::isFocussable Wrappable
Hi, The attached core patch makes the 'isFocussable' getter in CompWindow wrappable. This way, plugins such as winrules can make core's getter function return a different value to the one stored internally without actually having to modify the value. Alternating boot default entry every reboot
Hi, I am currently using isolinux (syslinux-6.03) in a clonezilla setup. It boots fine, however I want to have a setup where the default boot selection alternates every boot. * First boot : Default is menu item 0 * Second boot : Default is menu item 1 * Third boot : Default is menu item 0 ... The idea is that when it is booted into clonezilla the clonezilla script checks if the system needs to

Boot into operating system after PXE boot
Hi all, I would like to check with you all if the following is possible: I'd like to combine G4L (Ghost clone) with PXE (been done before) but in such a way that an option in LDAP is checked after booting with PXE. If it's set, a certain program is executed with certain parameters (G4L), if not, the PC should continue to boot in it's installed operating system. Is the latter

Book: Multilevel Modeling in R ETA?
Hi R folks (Dr. Bates in particular), In August 2005, Dr. Bates mentioned that the documentation for lme4 "will be in the form of a book with the working title 'Multilevel Modeling in R'" and I'm just wondering if there is an estimated date of publication or if it's still a long way off. The Rnews article does a great job of introducing the package, but I'm

ETA for 3.10.12 (was "Planned for the 30th of Mar, 2018")
Hi, We postponed this and I did not announce this to the lists. The number of bugs fixed against 3.10.12 is low, and I decided to move this to the 30th of Apr instead. Is there a specific fix that you are looking for in the release? Thanks, Shyam On 04/06/2018 11:47 AM, Marco Lorenzo Crociani wrote: > Hi, > are there any news for 3.10.12 release? > > Regards, >

Any ETA on syslinx 6.03 GA?
All, To me, 6.03 is looking good. Really good!! I'm doing a presentation for a local Linux Fest, about building a lab PXE server. One topic is the new native support in pxelinux for UEFI-based PXE. As you know, previously you had to use the hybrid approach of using pxelinux.0 for BIOS boot and grub2 for UEFI boot. So you had to maintain two different boot menus with slightly different

Just curious, haven't seen much discussion on this or anything in the news page. Is U3 being built yet ? Might we expect to see a test release sometime soon ? -- Beau Henderson JustManaged.com - Affordable Linux Administration & Security Services.

Any ETA on 5.4?
I can wait, I just have a project coming up and am planning. I remember seeing a post a couple of weeks back that RedHat 5.4 was released and at that time a couple of weeks was thrown out for Centos 5.4 being released. Are we still on schedule?
