Question about FASTTRACK, was [CentOS-announce] CEBA-2012:1035 CentOS 5 telnet FASTTRACK Update (fwd)
Greetings, Are FASTTRACK updates delivered by way of a different repo? Thanks. CentOS FastTrack repository
The upstream provider has started a new channel called fastrack. It is detailed here (see the whole thread): https://www.redhat.com/archives/nahant-list/2006-April/msg00001.html CentOS will also build the fastrack SRPMS. We have created separate repositories in CentOS-3 and CentOS-4 called fasttrack. (I know the spelling is different, that is by design. We don't want to use the name of

Yes, that is very much like the problem I encountered, but in my case it did not need multiple monitors to happen, just one. The config file suggested did seem to fix the problem, at least serving as a (hopefully) temporary workaround. Johnny, thanks for the pointer. And thanks to all who replied. P.S. - the workaround seems to work with both the latest "standard" Centos 7 kernel

Well, it could be the same, but the bug report does seem to refer to the bug being in kernel series 3.18. I am just using whatever 3.10 series kernel comes standard with Centos 7.x. I don't know anything about bug reports, and I an not familiar with swapping out kernels in Centos. BTW, is El Repo another name for the EPEL repository? Is there a way in Centos 7 to boot into an alternate video setup? Some distributions have an option to boot into something called VESA (or something similar). Something that might not have the fanciest features, but more likely to at least just work. CentOS CI Testing Prior to Releasing Packages
In another thread I talked about running CI testing on a packge before release. I thought I would explain that a bit more AND ask for tests, if they are needed. Prior to pushing newly released packages into the main CentOS os, updates, extras, cr, or fasttrack repositories, we run our t_functional CI test suite on the entire repo set. So if we are releasing an update, it would be against the os

Akemi, all is good now: I have the account in caps and have access to the Contribute tree of pages and my personal page. Thank you very much for your help and patience! I wish everyone was so nice and welcoming as yourself in this world. Fasttrack Repo on CentOS 4
A quick question on the fasttrack repo which is now up to date with upstream. Why is the fasttrack repo not in the main CentOS-Base.repo file but contrib which has never had anything is included in the main CentOS-Base.repo file? The goal of CentOS is to be binary-compatible with upstream so fasttrack is "more important" in this regard than contrib. Upsteam ships with the main channels

Okay, thanks to all who took the time to reply. What a shame; I hadn't planned on spending Easter weekend learning to do kernel upgrades, but . . . here it goes. Hi Akemi, thank you so much for your help. So, the case sensitivity bit me again: my actual account name is all lower case: https://wiki.centos.org/tomastomecek (b/c that's also my FAS account name) I guess I can try creating an account with initials in caps or I'd need the perms for my lower case account. Don't have a preference. I just read my original email and realized that I

Thanks, Akemi. I still need the permissions though: "You are not allowed to edit this page.", the same holds for my personal page. I also cannot find precise documentation how to contribute to the wiki itself: I can see on this ML that git diffs of changes are being posted - should I open a PR to some repo or edit the wiki page directly?
