Samsung CLP-325W network connection?
Anyone got this working over a LAN under CentOS? The instructions claim it is easy to connect after pressing the WPS button on printer and router. Sadly, I don't see a WPS button on my Linksys WRT54GL router. When I press the WPS button on the printer the WiFi icon flashes, but I don't see any attempt to connect in /var/log/messages on my CentOS-5.5 server. Any advice or suggestions

OT: Linksys router misbehaviour
I'm running a Linksys WRT54GL router from my CentOS-7 home server. Every now and then (maybe once every 2 days) the router's WiFi cuts out, and I've found no way to solve this except to disconnect the power from the router, wait 10 seconds and then re-connect. This always works. The router is running under dd-wrt. My question is - which makes it a tiny bit CentOS-related - does anyone

Problem with WRT54GL router
I have a curious problem with an old WRT54GL router, which I use as a WiFi access point on my LAN: Internet->ADSL modem->CentOS-7 computer->WRT54GL router The router has always had a slight problem of losing connection every so often - it used to be every couple of days, but recently it has become much more often. My cure was always to disconnect the power from the router for 10

Problem with AT&T VPN
I'm running a CentOS-5.6 server, which in general runs perfectly. My setting is possibly a little unusual: ADSL -> Billion 5200S RC modem/router -> CentOS-5.6 HP MicroServer -> Linksys WRT54GL router . My daughter is just visiting me, and she has to contact her job using AT&T VPN on her laptop under Windows XP. Unfortunately this does not work on my system when connected to

2 questions on CentOS firewall
I'm running CentOS-6 on an HP MicroServer with a Billion 5200S modem/router connecting to the internet. I'm running the standard CentOS-6 firewall on the server. (1) I can open port 22 on the Billion, allowing me to ssh in from outside. But for some reason I cannot ping the same address from outside. (I can ping it internally.) Why is this? I'm not sure if the problem lies with the

PCI ethernet card for CentOS
I need to get a second ethernet card for my HP Proliant CentOS server, to attach a LinkSys WRT54GL router to. I see that there are many Realtek RTL8169S gigabit cards going for a song on eBay. Is anyone using one of these under CentOS? Do they work OK? (I used to have a couple of Realtek cards - not gigabit - and they worked fine.) Or does anyone have a strong recommendation for other cards? Any

Testers needed for VoIP router solution
Hi all, We have put together a firmware for a range of inexpensive routers. It has been configured to provide optimum VoIP performance. We have internally tested it for number of months and it looks very good. You should be able to run it easily with 20+ phones on local network ( we still did not hit the upper limit ) assuming that you have bandwidth. Your VoIP will get prioritized over other

Router for SOHO network - hardware considerations
Hi, Last week I finished installing a small network in a private school : one server (an old IBM X225), seventeen desktops (Fujitsu Siemens PIV 2.4 GHZ, 512 MB RAM, 40 GB HD), all running CentOS 5.5. One extra machine is acting as a router, in that it is installed between the DSL modem and the network, with two Ethernet cards, and it's taking care of DHCP, DNS, NTP and also acts like a

Linksys WIP300 WiFi Phone
Whoo hoo! I just received my WIP300 from voipsupply. I have to let it charge before I can play with it. A few quick comments: - I started a Wiki page at voip-info to post issues, firmware news, etc. I really like the wealth of info on the GXP-2000 page, so I wanted to start something similar for this phone. http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/index.php?page=Linksys%20WIP300 - My kit

wifi
I'd like to survey those on-list who actually use wifi SIP handsets. What type of wifi access point do you use? Are you happy with it? I presently use some older Linksys WAP54G APs. I'd like to replace these but in doing so I'd like to be moving in a VOIP friendly direction. I've yet to find a handset that I'd buy in quantity, but my last round of access points lasted >4

Strangely slow disk
I have a 1.5TB Western Digital hard disk (WD15EADS-00R6B0) on my CentOS-5.7 server, which has become incredibly slow for some operations, eg rsync, BackupPC archive, e2fsck, although it seems to work fine for ordinary file operations, and "smartctl -a /dev/sdb" does not report any errors. For example, running "e2fsck -p /dev/sdb5" on a 250GB partition on this disk took over 24

Alternative IP addresses
My CentOS-7 home server has a static IP address. Is there a simple way of organizing the hpptd server so that it is accessible through this address at a remote host, but is accessed at its 192.168 address by a laptop on the WiFi LAN? -- Timothy Murphy gayleard /at/ eircom.net School of Mathematics, Trinity College, Dublin

[OT] Wifi SIP phones - LinkSys WIP330
Hi List, Hope everyone is recovering from the festive season :) (ok we still have new years i guess!) Anyways, I was wondering if anyone has had any successful dealings with WiFi phones and operation with '*' at all? I've been keeping my eye on the LinkSys WIP330 ( http://preview.tinyurl.com/nccxn ) and wondered your collective thoughts? Would I be correct in thinking that (as

My new server
I bought a very cheap server yesterday - an HP ProLiant micro server for 160 euro (280 euro with 120 cashback, for some reason). But I was surprised when I opened the box to find it didn't come with keyboard or mouse, and doesn't have the old keyboard/mouse sockets, but requires USB versions. Is that the norm nowadays? Is it possible to convert the old keyboard/mouse plugs? Also there is

Best Wireless bridge for Polycoms
Hi, I'm stuck doing an install with Polycoms at a small office with no RJ-45. They went wireless 100%, poor them. I insist on using Polycom unless it's impossible because that's what I am standardized on for many reasons. What's the best way/device to turn a wired Polycom 501 (or any Polycom for that matter) into a WiFi phone? Mike -------------- next part --------------

spamassassin with postfix/dovecot
I'm trying to install spamassassin on a postfix/dovecot server, running CentOS-6.4, following the instructions at <http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Amavisd>. I think I have taken all the steps indicated, and the configuration seems to pass the tests suggested, although the response is much more sparse than that described: ------------------------ [tim at alfred ~]$ telnet localhost 10024
