screen saver crash
My screen saver crash both in gnome and kde X windows when open the screen
saver.
I guess that some package needed is not installed.
I reinstall the gnome-screen but it still crashs. How can I check which
package is not installed?

NIS libuser and auto-make of maps
I have my NIS user/group files separate from the system user/group
files using libuser to manage them and that works well, but I am
trying to find a way to get libuser to invoke a 'make' of the NIS
maps whenever it updates the master files. Is there a routine I
can configure in libuser to do this, or am I stuck having to do
it by cron?

problems in centos-5.6
hi,
i try to collect the problems, bugs and 'strange' things in current
centos-5.6 release:
os/i386 these shouldn't have to be there (they are from older release):
kmod-gfs-0.1.34-12
kmod-gfs-PAE-0.1.34-12
kmod-gfs-xen-0.1.34-12
centos-release-notes-5.5-0
updates/i386 these shouldn't have to be there (they are already in os):
libtdb-1.2.1-5.el5.i386

Build environment for totem-2.16.7-7.el5_6.1.src.rpm
This package has a build requirement 'gecko-devel' which is fulfilled by
'xulrunner-devel'. But in the process of building the browser plugins
two tools named 'xpidl' and 'xpt_link' are necessary. They werde once
part of 'gecko-devel' but are now replaced by other tools. I haven't
found any package that has these tools all the way back to 5.0.

List of updates in Update 3 ?
While update 3 was released last week, it looks
like there are 40 or so packages updated. I dunno
about squid, it is listed on
http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/rhel4as-errata.html
but the changelog is from October 2005 (unless it is an rhel only
bug).

CentOS on IBM 7043-150, liblaus missing
Hello,
I found Pasi's site (http://centos.upi.iki.fi/pub/centos/4/os/ppc/)
describing how to get CentOS working on a IBM 7043-150 43p CHRP 604e
RS/6000 box. I have the exact same machine. I followed his
instructions and got the version of CentOS he provided working on my
system.

Changing a user's shell on CentOS Directory Server?
Should unprivileged users be able to change their shell with lchsh on
5.3 and, if it matters, CentOS Directory Server? lchsh seems to
require more open permissions than those which come with a default
installation:
Error initializing libuser: could not open configuration file
`/etc/default/useradd': Permission denied.

Win7 x64 "device not ready" error when DLLpath passed to dyn.load
Hi,
Does anyone have any idea why some installations of 64 bit Windows 7 yields
an error like this when passing DLLpath to dyn.load or library.dynam?

I should clarify, it's in RPMFusion for Fedora as well as Russian
Fedora, not in Fedora itself.
