[CentOS-announce] Release for CentOS-6.0 i386 and x86_64
Just wanted to extend a personal thanks to the CentOS team for their hard work and dedication on this release and on the CentOS distro itself.
Thanks for this release and everything else you all have provided and continue to provide, despite all the distractions and what not.
Much appreciated

Monitoring power consumption
Hi all,
I would like to monitor the power consumption of my server. What I am
looking for is:
* a simple monitoring device that would measure the power consumption
of 1 server
* a way to get the consumption reading from that device to my centos
server (via usb / wlan / whatever works)
Any suggestions?
Best,
Peter

Fw: New issue, configuring 2 Vista nodes
Yes, I am aware of this. It does not affect my problem; however, I have isolated the problem to the Norton Internet Security Firewall & I am working with their Engineering group to solve it.
Cheers,
Alan

Rsyslog5 and CentOS
Hi folks,
I am in the process of getting rsyslog 5.8.2 to work on CentOS 5.6 (both
64 and 32 bit). All that is left is getting SELinux to work with it.
Has anybody out there gone through the process of working this out and
can provide a policy file?
If not, is anyone interested in the work I will do then (is there some
place to publish those files?)?
Best regards,
Dirk

how to know when files have finished ftping? -- antair restored
Here's a thought: what about doing an lsof? If a file is still being written by ftpd it should be open for writing.

dual boot box: winxp & centos 5: impossible to restorewinxp? -- antair restored
Have you disconnected all your usb hardware before trying the repair? I've repaired my box more times than I can count and the only time I've seen lots of hdd activity is when I had some weird hardware attached.

Samba4 AD/LDAP question
Hi guys,
First time poster so I do apologize if this question has been asked before.
In a test set up we are trying to use samba4 to authenticate a small network
with Linux, Win, and OSX clients. I have successfully deployed samba4 in
domain controller mode, can attach windows machines to it, manage the DC via
windows tools.
We can also join Linux servers to the domain, however my problem is as
