Tips for motherboard with multiple PCI / PCI-e slots
Hi,
I need to fit at least three NICs and I was looking for motherboard models
that contain 3 or 4 CPI (or PCI-e) slots and works with CentOS.
I had a problem in the past with some models that had a bug and did not work
well with linux (ok with windows) so that's way I am asking this here.

Any news on an updated php 5.2 version in extras/testing?
Hi,
I've being using the 5.2.10 that is in testing in a production environment
for more than six months without any problem. I am wondering if/when we are
going to see a 5.2.14 version there and if the recently disclosure of a
5.1.6 security update affects the 5.2.10 that is in testing.

High level of pop3 popping causing server to become unresponsive
Hello all,
We have put Dovecot 2.1.4 on several of our production servers (CentOS, on
Dell R710, with 20GB memory, dual CPU Quad-core). We have a single instance
of Dovecot running and currently have several instances of Popa3d. When

Asterisk unresponsive
We are running asteriskNow 1.4.18 and after a few days it becomes unresponsive and inbound INVITEs timeout.
We just reboot the box to resolve it. But it seems to be occurring more regularly now.
I am hesitant to move to latest version, but will do if needed.
Any guidance or troubleshooting modes I may use will be helpful.

How to change the time interval in dashboard for a node is considered unresponsive
Hi everyone,
I have a problem with puppet-dashboard because I appear unresponsive
when many nodes are running correctly.
In my current configuration nodes do not run the daemon, but I have
created a cron task that runs once the command puppetd at hourly
intervals.
The point is that when I look into dashboard many nodes are always
considered unresponsive because it seems that the default dashboard

Puppet dashboard shows all hosts unresponsive
Hi guys,
I have a strange situation. I''ve got 1 dashboard MySQL DB accessed from 3
different dashboard hosts. Strangely enough, 2 of them show the right node
statuses, and the third one just shows all nodes as unresponsive.
As far as I know, the status comes from the "nodes" table in the DB, so how
can this happen? Is there some cache I need to clear? Is there another

mongrel becoming unresponsive
Hello,
I''m running mongrel behind apache via proxypass. Every now and then, a spammer
tries to proxy traffic through apache, and for some reason, apache forwards
the request to mongrel, even though it''s not a site being hosted by me.
At times this seems to cause mongrel to become unresponsive, and all requests
to the site then fail with a proxy error until mongrel is

email to web posting software?
Dear CentOS,
I have a user group that would like to be able to routinely post (easily)
emails to a web site. Must be usable without special training. I have no
experience with this. Anyone have a suggestion? LAMP stack installed.

No ices for icecast ?
Hi, and a Happy New Year to everyone.
I have followed this tutorial to install icecast on Centos
5.5,
http://www.howtoforge.com/linux_webradio_with_icecast2_ices2
but cannot find the ices package for sending the audio
to icecast for it to stream.
I would like to send the data as mp3, if there is a suitable
program to do this.
Has anyone on the list done this on Centos?
Kind Regards,

ia32-libs for 64 bit CentOS
Hi,
I've been trying to install Zimbra Desktop 7 on CentOS 5.5 using the usual perl script provided. The issue is, I get a warning that my system does not have ia32 libs. I dug a bit on google and found out that 'there is no such package as ia32 libs for Centos'. I also tried all the suggested work arounds like glibc & stuff, can anyone shed more light on this?
Oh, the zimbra

Server unresponsive until reboot, memory exhausted
I'm having an issue with an apache web server running the latest CentOS5
kernel (this issue is not new to the kernel). After a few days/weeks of
running the server will become unresponsive and will require a physical
reboot in order to come back online. The system is so unresponsive when
the issue occurs that login at console is not even possible.
I have atop installed and have looked back

Intermittently unresponsive mouse
I am using the Mate desktop on CentOS 7 and have found that the mouse intermittently becomes unresponsive for a few seconds, typically no more than 3-5 seconds. I do not remember seeing that when I used the regular Gnome desktop on CentOS 6 but I could misremember. The machine is fast and uses a dual-monitor setup with the native nVidia graphics driver.
Is this really to be expected? I thought

application always unresponsive overnight
Hi,
I set up my application on Linux (Suse), running MySQL (which sits on a
different server) and Webrick. It works fine. However, every morning
when I come back to my desk, the application gets unresponsive. If I
simply access http://host:3000 <http://host:3000/> I can see the rails
greeting page (that means Webrick is running fine right?), but if I
access any of pages in the

How to debug XEN, in case where DomU/Dom0 gets unresponsive?
Hi all,
I would like to know how to debug xen.
To give some more informations, I would like to explain why I''d like to do this.
I''ve compiled xen from source (3.1.x/unstable) and installed it on Debain etch. Furthermore I''ve installed 2 DomU, one HVM (Win2k3) and one EFW (Endian Firewall, RH-based 2.6.9-55 kernel).
Both DomU''s are running fine for about 15

flood of (auth in progress) connections from unresponsive windows client crashing samba
We have been experiencing a debilitating 'bug' in samba where something is causing a flood of the messages seen below in smbstatus and the network drives ( in our case N: ) on all clients become unresponsive. In fact, the entire client becomes unresponsive, essentially making them unusable until samba is restarted. We first saw this and connected it to the following open bug in samba

Windows 7 Clients Slow/Unresponsive with some file types
I am having some unresponsive and very slow performance with a couple of
different file types with Samba and Windows 7 clients.
The problems manifest in the following manners:
IGES files, these are CAD files. When opening up certain IGES files from
the server, the application can take upwards of 10 minutes to open up the
file. If I copy the same file from the server to the desktop, the

system unresponsive
Ok, we used to get this occasionally on cluster nodes, and we just got it
on a fileserver (very bad). The system is discovered to be unresponsive:
it doesn't ping, and plugging a console in, you can see that it's not
dead, but there nothing at all on the screen, nor does it respond to even
<ctrl-alt-del>. The only answer is to power cycle it; it comes up fine.

flood of (auth in progress) connections from unresponsive windows client crashing samba
/etc/samba/user_and_group_map.txt contains Windows username/group to linux username/group mappings. In our setup, all users exist in ldap, as do the directory groups, but the linux user and group information (namely uid/gid) do not. This has been setup such that the users connect to samba as the windows username (ex. PRODUCTION+user1) for an authroized group (PRODUCTION+group1), but the files
