Why are all repos < 5.6 listed?
Greetings all. I just enabled all repos on my system, to enable me to find a particular package. This is the first time I have noticed all the Centos repos < 5.6 being listed. Is this a new feature, to include all repos pre 5.6 now? Here's the output of the aforementioned yum command - sorry it's a little bit long: [root at karsites ~]# yum --enablerepo '*' --disablerepo

router help
Hi. I think that I've got some prolems with my netgear router. When I try to play the stream on my own computer it works very well, with http://localhost:8000/stream.ogg Also, if replasing localhost with the ip adress of the computer it works. But when trying to access it from outside it doesn't work. I've opened up port 8000 and 8001 on my router. Any idea what can be wrong? Can I

WINS not caching second Samba Server
Background: I have 2 SMB Servers; one is configured to be the Preferred Master (fserver), the other (upstairs) is configured to just share some files. I want it to connect and update the WINS configuration on the Preferred Master. Configuration files for both servers are attached. Also worth mentioning that both the 'fserver' and 'upstairs' reside on the same network. Some

lokkit
I have used lokkit to setup iptables ( I have a big script that does this) basically just ports I want with "--port=https:tcp" etc... I wish to allow igmp and add igmp to the lokkit command line? How do I do that? I can add this to /etc/sysconfig/iptables: iptables -A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -i eth1 -j ACCEPT iptables -A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -i eth1 -p igmp -j ACCEPT iptables-save >

Line Override Device
Hello, I am trying to solve a problem that I can foresee when I deploy Asterisk into a few SOHO situations soon. In Nebraska and in my area of Western Pennsylvania we have violent thunderstorms in spring and summer and sometimes very heavy wet snow in Winter. Both type of event will take out the power of a period of 30sec to 36-hours. So no UPS system would be able to handle a system for over

Cannot access Windows 10 printer - but can access all other parts of teh server (disks, folders etc)
Hi, I am very new to mailing lists so please excuse any mistakes I make regarding ettiquete etc. On a home network (Windows/Apple/Lunux) everybody has co-operated happily. I recently swapped my Linux system from Mint (Mate) to Debian (KDE) Buster. I can no longer access the Windows machine's printer form Debian. I have tried many things and done a great deal of googling but cannot seem to

NAT type router database?
Is anybody aware of a database containing the types of nat implementation in todays soho/consumer routers? I think it would make sense for the community to have this database in order to avoid symmetric nats. If one such thing does not exist how about starting this database? A stunclient for linux can be found at http://sourceforge.net/projects/stun/ I can contribute this information for two

GSM cellphone as cheap gateway?
Hello Even the cheapest GSM gateway I found for a simple SOHO server costs over $300. If possible, I'd rather have a local solution than use a remote VoIP provider to have Asterisk make outgoing calls to the GSM network. So... I was wondering if there are some entry-level cellphones that can somehow be hooked up to a PC running Asterisk and used as an el-cheapo GSM gateway? Thank you.

extended error
Hi all, This is happening on a Samba 3.0.1 PDC-controlled domain, so I'm not sure if the issue is Samba-related. If not, perhaps somebody can point me in the right direction. One of my users has a printer connected to his Win2k PC (name UPSTAIRS-SMALL). Printing to it from another (WinXP) workstation fails miserably. I tried to go back to first principles and go Start->Run

Residential router w/ QoS support?
Did anybody ever come across an affordable, residential cable/dsl router with support for QoS? The ones I've seen so far (Netgear, D-Link and W-Linx) do not seem to support it. I noticed that even email can damage a G.711 stream on an 128kbit uplink, leave alone file-sharing applications. I understand this is strictly related to *, but nevertheless of interest to many of us. Thilo

KINGSTON SOHO Hub
I just ran into a completely unexpected problem. It appears that the Kingston SOHO Hubs don't do TCP. They do NETBEUI very well. After 4 hours of troubleshooting I went home and got my cheap Bay Networks 8 port hub and everything worked. This is to hopefully prevent others from running into the same problem. Nothing on Kingstons site mentions no TCP support but swapping only the hub worked
