Blank windows in Rcmdr
I started to learn R and like to use Rcmdr. I have the latest R (R-2.6.2) and R commander (1.3-14). When I go to Tools menu (for example) pull down "load packages" in Rcmdr, a blank window is up and there is nothing in it. I can not select and move to next step. This also happens with the other functions like in Graphs menu. I know that Rcmdr uses Tcl/Tk interface. I do not have this

Open extra ports on firewall?
Hi, I'm using the preconfigured firewall that comes with CentOS 5. I configure it with system-config-securitylevel-tui, close all ports except SSH, and then open only the ones I need. Right now, on one of my desktops, I've installed AMSN, which requires opening a series of ports. I've configured the app to use ports 7000 to 7010 (TCP and UDP). When running

Wine and XP
I have Wine working, and my Windows XP-installation mounted as read only. Reading the FAQ, I noticed: "DON'T configure Wine to use an NT-based Windows install (NT, Win2K, WinXP)." So... is it futile to try to get XP-applications running on my Linux-box? Should I install them from Wine, and if so, how? "wine SETUP.EXE"? I'm mostly interested in running Instant Messanger

After configuring my home network, aMSN segfaults. I posted this issue originally in the aMSN forums under this thread: http://www.amsn-project.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7593 I was told that my issue is related to SAMBA, referring this thread: http://www.amsn-project.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6343 After uninstalling SAMBA, aMSN stops segfaulting and works as expected. After installing it

[Fwd: Asterisk client for ekiga.net NAT problem]
I am experiencing a "606 not Acceptable" error trying to set up an Asterisk server as an ekiga.net client. My server is behind a firewall with NAT routing. I have googled this problem and read about Asterisk feeding its local ip address to ekiga.net. That seems to be my problem. I tried putting stunaddr=stun.ekiga.net into the sip.conf file under [ekiga]. I also tried

Problem or no ?!
Hello, i don't know if the problem is imputable to compiz as they say .. but it can be the occasion in order to demonstrate it or to make clarity; i use amsn, and i have noticed that the panel doesn't work correctly with compiz: it opens but the click doesn't select emoticons; the development team of amsn affirms that it's a bug of compiz and beryl. ekiga
Dear All I have installed Asterisk on my centos 5.0 and I have two other centos 6.0 and centos 5.6 with ekiga sip client. The centos 6.0 can make successful sip calls but centos 5.6 cannot. Among the Asterisk logs, I found that the centos 6.0 has ekiga 3.2.6 but centos 5.6 has ekiga 2.0.2 . How can I install/upgrade my older ekiga? Thank you

In asterisk console I can't see nothing when ekiga passes the call. If I turn asterisk's sip

sip forking needed for ekiga 3.0
So, I have been testing ekiga 3.0 with Asterisk, and sadly, it don't work. I am told by the ekiga devs in http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=553595 and http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=553810 that the problem is that Asterisk does not support SIP forking. The issue is that I have multiple addresses on my workstation: 2: eth0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500
