CentOS 6 - Support for CanoScan LiDE 210
Hi folks, for some time I used a HP 2840 AiO device, connected via LAN, to scan documents. As scanning application I use xsane. I want to replace that HP scanner by a CanoScan LiDE 210. # LANG="" yum info libsane-hpaio ... 2 attempts to install newest hplip 3.11.1
Hi Folks, the reason: new printer HP LaserJet Pro M1132 MFP This printer needs a non-free plugin. On my 64-bit machine with CentOS 5.5 the installation via hplip-3.11.1.run and hplip-3.11.1.plugin.run works perfectly (except scanning - but that's not the problem at the moment). On my second machine - CentOS 5 32-bit I have many problems and printing doesn't works. 1. Installation

Canon scanner LiDE 220
This scanner is supported according to the SANE page, but doesn't work on my up-to-date C7 system (updated 20 minutes ago). The Canon web site is as expected - as useful as a chocolate tea pot. Has anyone managed to get this to run, and if so can you share the secret please. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Name: signature.asc Type:

Simple scan in CentOS 7
I just installed C7 on a new computer and despite Simple Scan being installed as part of C7, I have not been able to get it to recognize my Canon scanner connected to a USB port. I did have it running on another computer with C7 so there should not be any inherent issues. On a lark I installed gscan2pdf and sane-backends-drivers-scanners and sane-find-scanner found it: found USB scanner

Problems getting scanner to work from xsane (from Gnome Menu or GIMP)
We have a networked HP OfficeJet All-In-One. I have the scanner working with the CentOS 5.3, except xsane is ignoring SANE_DEFAULT_DEVICE. scanimage does however take this environment variable just fine: server1.wendellfreelibrary.org% scanimage -L No scanners were identified. If you were expecting something different, check that the scanner is plugged in, turned on and detected by the

updates issue
Since doing "yum update" this morning, an update that installed several packages, the updater shows me 3 packages to install: hpijs-1:3.12.4-4.el6_4.1 (x86_64) hplip-common-3.12.4-4.el6_4.1 (x86_64) hplip-libs-3.12.4-4.el6_4.1 (x86_64) but when I attempt to actually run the update I get: hplip-libs-3.12.4-4.el6.i686 requires libsane.so.1 hplip-libs-3.12.4-4.el6.i686 requires

scanner only works in su mode
Apparently I hadn't done any scanning since my move to centos. hp-scan works for root, but not for me as me. When I try to use xsane, it tells me no device found. When I try to use hp-scan as myself it tells me: error: Unable to locate device hpaio:/usb/Photosmart_C3100_series?serial=CN6ARC321S04KV using SANE backend hpaio:. Please check HPLIP installation. Can not print with OpenOffice.Org on CentOS 5.0 x86
I can not print any document with OpenOffice.Org Writer on CentOS 5.0 x86. Has anyone encountered this problem? My printer is HP Deskjet 3745 and apparently uses the hplip and hpijs packages provided by CentOS.

HPLIP
First, has anyone successfully installed the HPLIP driver from HP in CentOS4? Second, does that driver really provide the toolbox which includes handy stuff like ink level monitoring? I got the source RPM (hplip-0.9.4-1.1.src.rpm) from an FC4 testing mirror, which rebuilt fine on this machine: . . . + umask 022 + cd /home/rj/rpmbuild/BUILD + cd

Can I use Wine to Run the Scan Function of a HP Officejet 4215?
Hello, I have been trying to use the scan function of my HP Officejet 4215 by invoking sane. And that is not working. As an alternative, I hope I could run Wine as Windows XP and read in the HP cd that came with my printer to setup the printer and the scan function. Right now the printer works. It prints, copies, scans (using HP Director) and faxes and scan under Windows XP. Under

HPLIP 3.9.2
on Centos 5.2 2.6.18-92.1.22.el5.centos.plus Has anyone gotten HPLIP 3.9.2 to work? If so what was done about python-dbus and PyQt4-dbus? They don't seem to included after installing PyQt4-4.4, sip 4.4.5, and hplip 3.9.2. thanks, roger wells -- Roger Wells, P.E. Network Scanner and CentOS 5.5
I have an HP Photosmart 3210 All-in-One color printer. Printing works great, but I cannot get xsane to locate it on the local subnet. I've been to the sane site and looked at the backends. The HP 3210 is supported by hpio and there is a note that hpio is no longer needed because the functionality has been rolled int hplip. yum shows hplip is installed: hplip.x86_64 1.6.7-4.1.el5.4
