x25 line xterm
Noted that xterm by default uses 24 lines
per window.
I have reviewed /etc/termcap looking for a
specific entry for xterm that I can edit
to change the ln#24 to ln#25 for our
application.
When I used RedHat there was an editable
option to change the number of displayable
lines as is done in putty.
Any suggestions?

Recently a discussion around server

of routines to stress the configurations.
Do these stress suites exist for server

.C() memory allocation
I would like to retrieve a vector of integers from a call to .C(), but I
don't know its length in advance. How do I do this without making an ugly
safe guess?
My vector is called "sequences".
I am passing the argument sequences = integer(0) in the call to .C(),
then declaring the corresponding argument as int *sequences in my C code.
I tried R_alloc()ing the storage in C and

rsync checksums change randomly
Hello,
I have a weird issue with rsync randomly marking some files as having a
different checksum (see sample outputs below - run one after another). You
would think it is some kind of corruption / io problem with the files but
it doesn't seem so - I have copied files around, changes source to
different machines, counted md5s manually 100s of times - always the same.
All files except

[PATCH] Optimized assembler version of md5_process() for x86-64

Wouldn't it be better to add support for a crypto library (like openssl)
which would provide optimized algorithms for more than just one platform
without the need to maintain it separately?

does partial option work over ssh?
Dear All,
I am hoping that someone might be able to help me here. I have been
trying to use rsync to pick up a half-finished file copy and continue
from that point, rather than restarting, but can't seem to get it right.
Running rsync 2.6.7 and OpenSSH_3.6.1p2 on RHEL3;
pc-87 (see below) is rsync 2.6.3 and (OpenSSH_3.9p1, OpenSSL 0.9.7a Feb

I can execute the following commands and get
the indicated output:
date --date="Mar 25 15:00:00 UTC 2006"
Sat Mar 25 10:00:00 EST 2006
date --date="Mar 25 15:00:00 UTC 2007"

As you can see, the output differs for 2006 and 2007. That

ssh-dummy-shell
Are there any plans to write an OpenSSH version of ssh.com's
ssh-dummy-shell utility?
Here's a copy of the man page for this utility:
http://www.cs.duke.edu/cgi-bin/man.cgi?section=1&topic=ssh-dummy-shell
Basically, it's a replacement for /sbin/nologin that can launch
sftp-server.
If there's already a way to give a user scp and/or sftp access but not
shell access, please
