Intel e1000e driver bug and 82574L controller
One of the more promising solutions I'm looking at for my dual-ethernet
dual-monitor workstation contains an Intel 82574L Ethernet controller. I
found a LOT of postings regarding a bug in the driver for this controller:

Xen4CentOS e1000e package
KB and I were looking at repositories to import into git.centos.org
recently, and we found the e1000e package -- a rebuild of the Intel
e1000 driver for the x4c kernel.
Does anyone know if this externally-build module is still necesssary
for Linux 3.10? Or for Linux 3.14, which we're planning on moving to
at some point in the near future?

CentOS 7.3 and e1000e
Hi All - I have a box running the above. Power was lost long enough that
UPS did not work. When power came back on the C7 box boots way faster than
the switch and resulted in no network. power cycling the C7 box resulted in
network.
This even happened a second time. The only way to get the box back was to
power cycle. the box is remote and no keyboard and mouse connected.
Any thoughts on why

Problems with Intel Ethernet and module e1000e
Hi all,
I'm facing a serious problem with the e100e kernel module for Intel
82574L gigabit nics on Centos 6.
The device eth0 suddenly stops working i.e. no more networking. When I
do ifconfig from console I get
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:xx:xx:xx:xx:EA
inet6 addr: fe80::225:90ff:fe50:8fea/64 Scope:Link

I got: "Detected Tx Unit Hang".
At the moment I use 2.6.31 from Jeremy, does anyone know if it''s fixed
in 2.6.32 or newer tree?

e1000e NIC and MTU issues
Hello,
I am observing a performance degradation (of about 100 Mbps dropl) between
two domUs on different hosts when I set the MTU on dom0 to anything > 1500.
The domUs are still configured with MTU of 1500, so effectively there isn''t
any traffic with bigger MTU ever generated. And the network is jumbo frame
capable.
Furthermore, when I check the interrupts/second for dom0 using

e1000 network interface takes a long time to set the link ready
Hi,
In kubevirt, we discovered [1] that whenever e1000 is used for vNIC,
link on the interface becomes ready several seconds after 'ifup' is
executed, which for some buggy images like cirros may slow down boot
process for up to 1 minute [2]. If we switch from e1000 to virtio, the
link is brought up and ready almost immediately.
For the record, I am using the following versions:

Missing latest kmod-xfs and kmod-drbd82?
Since December there have been several kernel updates to the centosplus
repository for centos4... but no updates to kmod-xfs or kmod-drbd82.
Latest kernel is 2.6.9-78.0.13.plus.c4, but latest kmod-xfs is
2.6.9_78.0.5.plus.c4. Latest drbd82 kmod is also for 78.0.5.
I know there was a mention on the list that these modules are not kernel
dependent anymore... but yum and rpm seem to indicate

CentOS 5 centosplus kernel + kmod-gfs
On CentOS 5, the current centosplus kernel doesn't want to play with the
kmod-gfs package (because kmod-gfs wants the stock kernel):
# yum install kmod-gfs
gives me:
Transaction Check Error:
package kernel-2.6.18-8.1.14.el5.centos.plus (which is newer than
kernel-2.6.18-8.1.14.el5) is already installed
Should it work, or is there a separate centosplus build that I've not

it seems since yesterday the kmod-xfs rpms for the default (non
centosplus kernel) are removed from centos/5/centosplus repositories.
what happens? why did you do so? is there any announcement about it?
thanks.

kmod vs kernel-module-xfs , The naming issue
Hi All,
In CentOS 4 the kernel module is called kernel-module-xfs.
In CentOS 5 , it is called kmod-xfs-PAE....
May I know are they any difference between two module beside the naming
method ( and version)?
