Interaction of Shorewall and Shorewall6 with a Teredo relay?
I looked online for documentation about this, but couldn''t find it. Is anybody else running a Teredo relay, on a firewall that has both Shorewall and Shorewall6 installed? I''m running IPv6 at home (thanks to a Hurricane Electric tunnel). I''m having trouble with external Teredo clients being able to ping my home IPv6 addresses. All of these clients can reliably ping

Stopping a server not controled by service
Miredo is run as a server from the command line: /usr/sbin/miredo The man page says the signal SIGTERM stops the server. How do I send SIGTERM to the server? Or SIGHUP, as I want to make a change to the config file. And once I get this as I want it, how do I run it at system boot?

Receiving packet failed: (10054) (2nd post)
Thank you for your response. Yes, I know something changed, hence the smiley. I have looked at the code (I was able to build it under the new windows bash). It turns out that the error was on a udp receive, not a tcp connection. Didn't know you would get this error. Anyhow near the location of the error there was a remark about IPv6. I hadn't looked at that yet. So I turned IPv6 off at

IPv6 and Asterisk?
Hi, I've been experimenting with an IPv4 and IPv6 VoIP setup using SER. I'm using Asterisk for voicemail, etc. but as this only works for IPv4, I had to do a number of tricks to get it going for IPv6 phones. I was wondering whether there is any interest or plans in the pipeline to have Asterisk IPv6-enabled. Any info, especially by the developers out there, would be welcome. Thanks, --

Folders with ~ (tilde) slow to save
running Version 3.6.23-14.el6_6 I'm having slow save times with folders names ~something.. ie. /www/~bin/content.txt. doing this via a windows share.. when I save file it has a moment (few seconds) of hesitation.. then saves. When I do /www/bin/content.txt. the file saves instantly. Is there anywhere I can change a setting to fix this? or is this a bug. I've looked in the logs

transient "martian source ..." errors
Hi All, As you probably all know :-) I''m trying to do the multi-isp thing. I''ve resolved my last issue with the route_rules as suggested by Tom and Jerry suggested. Lately I have been seeing "transient" (I say transient because the problem will persist for a while and then magically clear itself up some number of minutes later) situations where my gateway will log:

Problems with building an rpm
I followed the setup instructions from http://www.owlriver.com/tips/non-root/ (link from the Centos wiki). All this is done on another 'clean' system, so I have to read the terminal screen there and tell what went wrong here. I then followed my colleague's instructions to get the tar, untar, autogen, configure, and finally make rpm. Well it was that make rpm command that finally

Samba AD with internal DNS on IPv4/IPv6 but only announcing IPv4 address
Hello, I use Samba AD in Version 4.8.3 and would like to run it on IPv4 und IPv6 in order to be able to have Samba acting as IPv6 DNS Server. However since I have problem with sysprep domain join as soon as Samba advertises its own Domain Controller Hostname as IPv4 and IPv6 address, I would like to tell Samba to run on both protocols but only resolve to an IPv4 address. So in short: When I

--with-ipv4-default and sshd IPv4/6 dual bind hack
Hello all, I just found a bug a nice bug that can be turned into a real feature on systems (usually Linux) that are built with --with-ipv4-default. If you enable IPv6 in kernel, and enable both listenaddress 0.0.0.0 and ::, sshd will error out 'address family not supported'. However, you can work around this error by starting sshd with 'sshd -4 -6'. As far as man page is

ipv4 imap not accepting connections in mixed ipv4/ipv6
I have two installations of dovecot 2.18, apart from the necessary changes to allow them to replicate amongst themselves the configs are identical. Both are running Ubuntu 14.04 and are kept up to date. One is running 64bit and the other 32 bit (for historical reasons). Both have ipv4 and ipv6 addresses. The 64 bit installation allows access on port 143 and 993 on both ipv4 and ipv6. The 32

samba 4.9.5 - joining Samba DC to existing Samba AD failed
Hi, That failure is a little odd. It's replicated all the DB objects, but is failing trying to commit the transaction. It looks like the error is happening trying to get the objectClass for the Administrator user. The weird thing is it should have already successfully passed this check once when it first received the object. You could try the following: 1. If you run 'samba-tool
