putting "/tmp" to memory
"to memory" means: mounting a ~2 GByte filesystem [ tmpfs?, or ramfs? ], and put the "/tmp" on it. [ e.g.: 4 GByte ram in the pc ]. what to write in the "/etc/fstab"? I would like to collect the [ answers too:P ]: Advantages: - Memory is way faster then HDD/SSD, so it could speed things up - "SSD amortization" is less Disadvantages: - Security?

OpenSSH could be faster...then why don't they path it??

These buffers often end up acting as a bottleneck for network throughput of SCP, especially on long and high bandwith network links. Modifying the ssh code to allow the buffers

yum groupinstall "GNOME Desktop" fails
I?ve got a CentOS 7 VM here that was installed with one of the CLI-only presets. To answer a question in another thread here, I wanted to install a GNOME desktop environment in it, so I went searching and found the standard instructions for doing that. The problem is that rebooting the VM gives me a black screen after it finishes the text booting parts. There?s an X cursor, and wiggling the

How to correct set permissions only for a group users access the share folder
Rowland, The first two images are from the "storage" folder, that is the main folder, which I configured via "computer management". http://i.imgur.com/lerIGBg.png The last two are related to the CTI group. Tell me what you need to test, I do! :D On Mon, Dec 11, 2017 at 1:33 PM, Rowland Penny via samba < samba at lists.samba.org> wrote: > On Mon, 11 Dec 2017

X11 plot window doesn't show graphic immediately
Hi r-help, I have a weird problem. When I plot anything, say plot(1:10), a plot window opens but it's empty. It looks just like this: http://i.imgur.com/9uqO6.png I have to resize the window, either by clicking the fullscreen icon on the menu bar, or by dragging the borders. Then the plot is shown, but strangely in the original size of the window, where it was before the resize:

I see "everyone permission" at windows security even i didn't add.
I created a share with the config I gave below. As you can see in pictures I have two Everyone at "Permission" and one Everyone at "Share" section. These permissions comes when i create a share.. One of them is definitely related to samba because it is in the "share" section, but I guess the other two permits are comes with "posix acl". But i did not add

Dealing with permission inheritance for CIFS Windows and NFS Linux clients accessing same data
How can I best handle file & directory permissions & inheritance when accessing the same data on a remote server from Windows clients through a CIFS share and Linux clients through an NFS export? I have Samba AD working and I believe Winbind is working because when I check permissions from the command line, whether locally on the server or a remote Linux client, with ls, getfacl,

png(type='cairo'): point symbols without boarders are not anti-aliased?
Hi, It seems that anti-aliasing in png(type = 'cairo') is not well supported for the point symbols without boarders, e.g. pch = 16. The Cairo package works well, though. You can compare png() with CairoPNG(): png(): http://i.imgur.com/8niB3jX.png CairoPNG(): http://i.imgur.com/FZBJOxm.png f = function(dev, ..., main = '') { dev(...) plot(c(1, 2, 1, 2), c(1, 1, 2, 2),
