Sysylinux-6.03 freezes at Loading kernel..., works smooth with 4.06 via SD-CARD
Hi,
I am trying to boot syslinux with an SD-Card on COMe-mBTi10 board, it works
perfect with syslinux 4-06(as BIOS supports booting from SD-CARD), but
hangs with syslinux-6.03 during 'Loading vmlinuz ... '.
I tried various ways in which I could debug but no hints, just one time I
got the error below the loading screen.
'Loading vmlinuz0 ... CHS: Error 8001 reading sector 34(0/3/3)

Completely disable local keyboard input in Syslinux / Extlinux?
Hello list,
I'm trying to reuse a fairly old PC based embedded system. It has no
video output at all, no VGA, nothing older, and no keyboard / mouse
connectors. The console is on a standard RS232 interface, including BIOS
output and the minimal BIOS loader. The BIOS emulates / redirects text
output to and keyboard input from the console RS232 interface, but
unfortunately, this emulation

Using syslinux to boot xen without initrd
Erwan, I'm using syslinux v3.85
Gene, the kernel was built using buildroot (and I checked that Xen support
was enabled). Didn't try without the menu, will see that now.
Also, I saw a short note on syslinux mboot wiki page: "A really good use
case for this (using mboot.c32) is booting Xen <http://xensource.com>, or
any other hypervisor-based virtualization pieces that also

domU video modes supported by VNC?
Hello,
I have Ubuntu installed as a domU and can connect to it over VNC
running in dom0. However I cannot increase the resolution above 800x600.
I would really like 1024x786. In the Ubuntu guest it says there graphics card
is a VESA compatible, and only has 600x400 and 800x600 screen resolutions.
My domU config is shown below.
I have stdvga=0
I searched the mailing lists, and it said stdvga=1

[PATCH] v2v: -o libvirt: fix <video> element (RHBZ#1225789)
Create the correct tags for <video> in the libvirtxml, so all the
attributes are in a <model> child of <video> instead of <video> itself.
Adapt the XML of test-v2v-i-ova to the different expected XML.

Video Recording
Hi,
I would like to record some training/advertising videos, in a similar
format to those offered by CBT Nuggets (and others). Essentially this
means I need to be able grab real video (e.g. webcam or DV camcorder,
etc) as well as what is on the computer screen (VNC Recorder maybe) and
audio.
In terms of output I would like it to be in Ogg Theora format as these
seems to be supported both on

Kernel Panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!
Hello Xen users,
I tried to install Xen 3.1.0 on Scientific Linux (RHEL4), but this
mission failed.. Hope you can help me by finding the reason for my problem.
I downloaded the xen sources from
http://bits.xensource.com/oss-xen/release/3.1.0/src.tgz/xen-3.1.0-src.tgz
and compiled them by running "make" and "./install.sh". This seemed to
work.

trouble with gfx_passthru=1 + intel vid card
Hi,
I''m trying to pass an intel video card to a guest via VT-D. I got this to
work once so i know my system can do it, but I can''t seem to replicate my
success. Not sure if something changed in the bios(vt-d is still enabled
there), or elsewhere.
When I pass a device with gfx_passthru=0 (using config below), guest boots
up and the vid card shows up at an incorrect pci id(ie not

Video Card Not Recognized Installing CentOS 3.7
I set up a new system that includes the following:
ASUS AE8N-E Motherboard (NVIDIA nForce 4 Ultra Chipset)
AMD Athlon 64 3800+ Processor
OCZ PC3200 Gold Edition 1GB Memory
EVGA GeForce 6600 PCI-Express x16 Video Card
CentOS 3.7
The video card wasn't detected and I had to use the VESA driver
(generic) when I installed CentOS 3.7. As this is the first time I've
used a NVIDIA video card

Hard to imagine why -- intel is primary, and nvidia chip has no outputs. Must
be something silly in how the distro has
