automatically detaching PCI host devices from guest for SRIOV usage.
Dear List ,
We are using intel 82599EB based SRIOV capable 10GbE cards
on the host machine. The VFs are being assigned to the guest
in pass through mode and are providing the network connectivity
as expected.
However when we shutdown the guest the connectivity does not
comes back via the VFs on the guest in next boot unless
the VFs are detached from the *guest* *before* initiating a

Samba3 on multiple networks, how to make it hand out the correct IP?
Hi,
My Samba 4.1.x server is connected to two networks, one in the 192.168.*
range (wired) and one in the 10.* range (wifi). The clients on either
network normally cannot reach each other.
I noticed Samba hands out (eg: for dcname.company.net) it's IP's from both
ranges to clients on both sides. So the 192.168.* clients get two A records:
192.168.1.1 & 10.0.0.2.
I noticed that,

Try this on your VPN_office host:
tcpdump -npi any icmp and host 192.168.1.3
In parallel you start a ping from the other network:
ping 192.168.1.1
I assume, that tcpdump will show all packets from

AS5300 and Asterisk
Hey all,
I have an as5300 I use for dial in customers, we have 4 PRIs on it.
We have a few free channels on it. I'm wondering if I setup SIP on the
as5300 I can have asterisk use the free channels for dial out.
I'd still have to use my TDM04B for incoming calls, but at least I can
expand my outgoing.
Anyone done anything like this before? I've never messed with VoIP on

BRI In the states
Hi all.
I've ordered a TDM400P with 4 FXO, but after using my X100P I'm thinking
about returning the TDM400P because of bad echo issues. If I do get the
echo issues I'll look at digital options.
My question: Is anyone using ISDN (BRI) in the states? I've heard
ISDN4LINUX devices suffer bad echo but chan_capi works great. All the
chan_capi cards I find though are for overseas

Guests can't connect to each other
Hi,
I'm using libvirt and qemu on Debian Wheezy. I'm having a strange
behavior. Guests can't connect to each other when they're on the same
host.
On the host I'm using bonding (in active / backup mode) and vlan. It
looks like this :
eth0 \ / macvtap0
bond0 --- vlan222
eth1 / \ macvtap1
So I've got two guests, let's say A and B. When

Problem with Polycom SP 500 and Cisco PIX
Hi everyone,
I'm very new to all this, so please forgive me if I have the terminology
mixed-up.
We are preparing to install an Asterisk IP PBX over the weekend and I have
an issue with the Polycom SP 500 phones we are trying to use. My problem is
regarding DHCP.
Our DHCP server is our Cisco PIX 501 firewall. I've specified option 66 and
the phones connect to the FTP server

Does this tell me anything? Traffic report
I'm trying to get Samba up and running and having a terrible time. It
says that I should be able to run nmap and see that 137 and 139 are open
- which they are not. I have not added any restrictions in smb.conf, do
not have a firewall running and I have increased the log level to 5 to
see all of the messages. It says that it is talking on 137 but it kind
of looks like it's not talking
