Good day, I would like to first test and then use centos 5.5. I downloaded centos 5.5 x86_64 live CD. Problem...screen resolution only 800x600. In fedora 14 it is 1024x768, same in debian squeeze and opensuse11.3. Could there be a way to increase the resolution? in either i386 or x86_64. Thanks Regards Johan

good day, I am new to centos. Using a standalone laptop. Downloaded and burned the live cd. All seem ok except screen resolution only 800x600. Most importand I do not seem to find the install to hard disk option anywhere. Some distros I tried do have an option to install on the screen when you are happy about the OS. Good day, Installed Centos 6.3 live-cd. Looking good but * no internet connection * (wired dsl system). Other linux flavours do not seem to have this problem on my laptop and internet connection. Did a lot of google but not really advice that I could try. I would like to try Centos out but not able to proceed without connection. Kindly some detailed advice if possible. Thanks JohanS

Good day, New to centos, New install . Using - Software updater While updating - downloading 73 updates there was a break in the download. The break happened close to the end. In Ubuntu 7.10 with KDE, I have compiz running under XGL. Although Beryl ran fine in Ubuntu 7.04, Compiz will not enable 3D effects such as wobbly windows. Other effects, such as minimize/restore animations, work properly. The machine is a Dell Inspiron 6400 / E1505 laptop, 2Ghz Intel DuoCore2, 2GB RAM, ATI X1400, 1680x1050 widescreen. Hi, Running: Freebsd 6.0 I am wondering if it is possible to have acces to loopback ip in a jail. I currently have a server running a jail. In the jail, there is a database and a web server.
