CentOS 7 - Have 2 disks, each with a biosboot partition, can only boot off one of them
Hi all, I used a kickstart script to setup a new machine of mine with RAID 1 (I couldn't get anaconda to create matching partition schemes). So I've now got /dev/sdg1 and /dev/sdh1 as 'bios_grub' (/dev/sd{a-f} are a separate array). 0 root at an-nas02:~# parted /dev/sdg print free Model: ATA ST3000NC000 (scsi) Disk /dev/sdg: 3001GB Sector size (logical/physical):

prepared query with RODBC ?
Dear List, Would anyone know how to perform prepared queries with ROBC ? I had a shot with some of the internal (non-exported) functions of the package but ended up with a segfault, so I prefer asking around before experimenting further... Thanks, Laurent

Precision in R
Greetings. I'm trying to recreate in R some regression models I've done in SAS, but I'm not getting the same results. My advisor suspects this may be due to differences in precision between R and SAS. Does anyone know where I can find specifications for R's type double? (It doesn't seem to be in the R Language Definition.) Thanks in advance for any help anyone can

Slow RAID resync
OK todays problem. I have a HP N54L Microserver running centos 6.5. In this box I have a 3x2TB disk raid 5 array, which I am in the process of extending to a 4x2TB raid 5 array. I've added the new disk --> mdadm --add /dev/md0 /dev/sdb And grown the array --> mdadm --grow /dev/md0 --raid-devices=4 Now the problem the resync speed is v slow, it refuses to rise above 5MB, in general

In the non linear mixed effects package a groupedData object can be created to facilitate modeling. The gD object includes a formula of the form 'response variable' ~ 'primary covariate' | 'grouping factor'. In experiments creating response surfaces there are 2 or more primary covariates. Is there any way to use the groupedData() function to include 2 primary

Errors on an SSD drive
I am building a new system using an Kingston 240GB SSD drive I pulled from my notebook (when I had to upgrade to a 500GB SSD drive). parted usage
Hello again, Been an interesting day. I'm attempting to use parted to create a partition on a 28TB volume which consists of 16x2TB drives configuired in a Raid 5 + spare, so total unformatted size is 28TB to the OS.. However upon entering parted, and making a gpt label, print reports back as follows; Model: Areca ARC-1680-VOL#000 (scsi) Disk /dev/sdc: 2199GB Sector Size

A parted issue
We just got in a few server-class drives. They're Seagate Constellations, 3TB. I went to partition and format, and did a mklabel gpt in parted. Ooops. It claims Sector size (logical/physical): 512B/512B After data sheet that doesn't tell me, and a long wait*, I spoke to a Seagate tech, who agreed that it *is* 4k physical. This is CentOS 6.2 Anyone know any way to correct this, or if

Mailboxes not showing up in MS Outlook
Sat, 19 Jul 2014 15:03:03 -0400 I am not sure exactly where the problem is here. I am using a sieve script that sorts various incoming messages into their own mailbox. MS Outlook does not show those folders if they are not directly under INBOX. Question re: CentOS-6.0, KVM, and /dev/sr0
I am experimenting with KVM and I wish to create a virtual machine image in a logical volume. I can create the new lv without problem but when I go to format its file system then I get these warnings: Warning: WARNING: the kernel failed to re-read the partition table on /dev/sda (Device or resource busy). As a result, it may not reflect all of your changes until after reboot. Warning: Unable to

@Alex, please next time use "Reply All" (instead of the simple "Reply") for the mailing list emails; that way the emails will get to the Syslinux Mailing List (instead of arriving to particular members). Now, to the matter in question... (snip) > > Just a minor detail (but it helps for understanding each other)... > > You probably mean "in UEFI

[PATCH] daemon: Parse output of old parted which didn't support -m option (RHBZ#598309).
RHEL 5's old parted didn't have the -m option. A number of commands relied on this option and thus would break on RHEL 5: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=598309 This rather large patch adds a second parsing path which allows us to parse the old text-based output (it preserves the code for parsing the output of the -m option too, since if supported, that is more accurate).
