clustering and load balancing Apache
Hi,
I am new to clustering and loadbalancing in apache, What is best way of
doing it? How do I do the clustering and what tools do I need to use? Do I
have those tools, I use CentOS , Do i have any tools in CenOs which comes
default in it? And how do I do apache load balancing? should I rely on
apache forums or mailing list or is there any way or tool I can use in
CentOS? Can any throw some vague

Design details of high performance dovecot cluster
Dear All,
Currently we are running a mail system for 10000 users each 2GB mailbox. At
present we have 5 mail servers where users mailboxes are distributed almost
uniformly. We have a HP SAN Storage (HP EVA 6400) where mailboxes are
stored. We partition the storage into five vg and each is mounted on the 5
servers. We are using postfix and dovecot.
The system was running fine but currently we

RE: DUNDi .... Halfway and CLUSTERING
At the moment I'm out of the office, but when I return I'll be certain to do
that. Note that my solution is different from what you are working on with
regexten, though I suspect some of the challenges that I've faced and
overcome are not. I'm actually using UltraMonkey for load-balancing and
failover of the Asterisk boxes, and my dialplan is set up so that it need
not be changed

Clustering apache
I'm a greenhorn when it comes to clustering in RHEL/CentOS and recently setup an active/standby clustering using Apache & Heartbeat. It seems to be a good entry step into clustering however after testing it I was disappointed in that the resource manager does not start httpd on node2 if httpd on node1 is dead (only starts httpd on node2 if the heartbeat daemon on node1 is dead). Is there

load balancing CIFS/Samba
Hi Folks,
I'm trying out some ideas for loadbalancing Samba servers with some
replication underneath. Right now, we're trying to use DNS round robin,
just to see if it works, but it isn't.
Our basic config is that we have the same share and NMB server name on
every node. Each node has a different IP hostname, which are all
round-robin'ed to a single hostname. When we try to

CentOS 6 can't custom partition layout in text mode install
Dear All,
Today I'm trying to install CentOS 6 boot using text mode, but I can't
create custom partition layout because I can't find the custom partition
layout menu. Where is manually partition setup in text mode install?
Please advice...

Running Icecast2 behind Amazon Elastic Load Balancer (ELB)
Hi Thomas,
We need a load balancer to allow for a single URL "entry point" to multiple
Icecast servers - we intend to host multiple Icecast servers behind the
load balancer so that we can expand / contract capacity as required - we
would add servers into the load balancer pool. This also allows us to scale
beyond the number of listeners a single Icecast server can support, while

CentOS 6 x86_64 can't detect raid 10
Dear All,
I just got a new server with the following specifications:
motherboard : Intel S5500BC
CPU : Xeon Quad Core 2.6Ghz
RAM : 8GB
HDD : 4 x 2TB SATA with configured raid 10 using raid embedded
server.
The problem is the centos installer can't detect raid virtual disk. I
can't find any log error with the following error messages during
installation process:

Clustered Samba Printing
Hi Folks,
I'm part of a Novell department that is working on
moving from Novell NDPS printing to Samba printing.
I have been told that the Samba environment will
have to be clustered to assure the same level of
redundancy for printing.
Does anyone have any pointers? Whether actual
experience in this or a location of good
documentation of the clustering process?
Thanks for

"conventional cluster management software"
I saw this in the openfiler thread, and realised it is another major
hole in my knowledge
What do you all use for clustering, and does it run out-of-the-box with CentOS?
My main areas of interest are :
- DB clustering (PostgreSQL) - yeah, we're looking at commercial stuff
and skytools
- web server clustering - Apache on CentOS
- storage clustering
thanks,

Active/Passive Cluster
I'm setting up a mail server in an active/passive cluster. Does any
know of a guide that details how to setup 2 linux servers connecting to
the same data array? I'm planning on using heartbeat but I do not see
any array configuration in the documentation.
Thanks,

cluster
Dear listers:
Here I have a question on clustering methods available in R. I am
trying to down-sampling the majority class in a classification problem
on an imbalanced dataset. Since I don't want to lose information in
the original dataset, I don't want to use naive down-sampling: I think
using clustering on the majority class' side to select
"representative" samples might

[WTA] Automatically blocking on failed login
Hello All,
I had problems with the security server, the server is frequently
attacked using bruteforce attacks. Is there an application that can
perform automatic blocking when there are failed login to the ports
smtp, pop3 port, and others?
I am currently using CentOS 5.5 in some servers
Thanks in advanced.......

ssh login through AD solution
Thanks to Anthony Ciarochi at Centeris for this solution.
I have a Centos (Red Hat-based) server that is now accessible to AD users
AND local users via ssh. I can control which AD groups can login using the
syntax below. Red Hat-based distros use "pam_stack" in pam.d which is quite
different than Debian's "include" based pam.d,
cat /etc/pam.d/sshd

High-Availability Clustering and drbd?
Does anyone here on this list have experience with HA clustering?
I'm previewing drbd as a potential tool, and wanted to know if anyone here has
experiemented with it at all... How stable is it? Does the additional
likelyhood of failure given the additional complexity actually get
compensated by a better overall system?

Any feedback is welcome...

My CentOS box configured RAID 1, yesterday and today I had the same

predicting fuzzy cluster membership
Dear all,
I'm trying to obtain a fuzzy clustering with fanny from the cluster package,
using a given set of data. That worked just fine.
I have another separate sample of data from the same problem. For each case in
this new sample I would like to know their membership coefficients with
respect to the clustering obtained with the first dataset. In effect I want
to have a kind of prediction

How to access to Data within a cluster
Dear All ,
For more process on data resulting clustering, one needs to access data within any cluster. How it is possible in CLARA?
$clustering :gives us clustering vector as mixed, so it isn't as separate
$clusinfo : gives us dissimilarities,
Thanks a lot

Single bandwidth pipe
Hi all,
Can someone help me in creating a single bandwidth
pipe out of two or more bandwidth providers.
Say, I have 2 internet connections
1) 128 K
2) 128 K
I want to use both of them on a single linux box.
Is there any way to do so.
Of course loadbalancing can be done, but I don''t want
loadbalancing. I want to have a single pipe of 256 K.
Some time back I was suggested to use squid on
