head scratcher update
perhaps my mind isn't working today.
I'm trying to update a system that hasn't been updated in a while which
I believe is CentOS 5.2 but it's possible that it's 5.1. I am pretty
sure that it has php installed from CentOS-Extras and when I do yum
update, it's stumbling on php

PHP.ini question 5.5CentOS
I can't seem to figure out why any changes I make to php.ini and
restart apache (apachectl stop|start; grep of any httpd processes),
the settings do not update.
php -r "phpinfo();" | grep Configuration
Configuration File (php.ini) Path => /etc/php.ini

I installed extensions via yum and they don't show up.

Centos 7 and php 5.5
Looks like you are trying to install packages built for EL6 in EL7
I'm fairly certain Remi has EL7 packages for PHP 7.
If he doesn't, I have php 5.6.x for EL7 - but it's a radical update
because I build against a new apache and LibreSSL which isn't what a lot
of people want.

Centos 7 and php 5.5
I am hoping that the wisdom of the group here can at least point me in
the right direction.
I have a Centos7 server that I need to upgrade php from 5.4 to 5.5. I've
tried several tutorials to add the remi repository and enable php55, but
I always end up at the same result:
Error: Package: php-5.5.38-1.el6.remi.x86_64 (remi-php55)

PHP 7.x on CentOS 7 : which solution ?
Hi,
As you all know, CentOS 7 is shipping PHP 5.4, which is OK in some
situations. Unfortunately, some applications like OwnCloud require a
more recent version of PHP.
Up until recently, I've been using PHP 5.6 packages from the Webtatic
repository. Despite the bad press this third party repo seems to have,
it has been working perfectly for me for a few years. Here's the PHP 5.6
packages

weird wordpress/php/pecl/ssh problem
So I'm running a centos 6 server which among other things hosts a
website using wordpress.?? I'm using php56u from IUS on C6's native
apache, and pecl + ssh because php-ssh2 is kinda broken. I ran smack dab
into this exact problem:

In my case, wordpress 4.7.6 auto updated, and I notied that 4.8.2 was
available, so I chose my standard
