[PATCH] Mending proposals for mkdiskimage
Hi,
this is the diff which i consider a halfways reasonable solution
for the following problems with mkdiskimage:
1. Ignoring option -s if the target file is not suitable for truncate().
2. Miscalculation of truncate() size by a factor of 512.
3. The storage capacity of device files can only be measured
for Linux block devices.
4. Long time of silent work when slow devices (e.g. USB

[PATCH libnbd] copy: Allowing copying from NBD server to NBD server.
This patch is a straightforward refactoring of libnbd?s nbdcopy
program, and not very interesting.
However I have plans for nbdcopy (see full todo below). I would like
to use this utility for virt-v2v as a replacement for ?qemu-img convert?.
qemu-img has caused us a series of problems:
- change in zeroing behaviour caused a big performance regression
- qemu-img reads extents up-front which

Ferret install, rake failing on make
I''m currently trying to install the latest version of Ferret (0.10.9)
on my Ubuntu Dapper (6.06) system. I have tried the gem, but it does
not generate the ferret_ext.so file. Ideally I would prefer to install
from the gem, but if source works, I''m fine with that too.
I am now trying an install from source, but when I run the command ''$
rake ext'' I get the

CentOS 5 x86_64 install does not see SATA drives
hi.
I am having some problems installing CentOS 5.2 x86_64 onto a
Supermicro 6015V-T with Intel 5000V chipset and ESB2 controller using
SATA drives. Currently I am running CentOS 4.7 i386 and it sees both
drives but when I boot into the CentOS 5 install CD it fails to see
the drives. Does anybody have any tips for getting the drives visible?
Kind regards,
Dougal

This is an interesting idea. We'll end up wanting docs to build in the
CI anyway, so this could be done using e.g. a -draft tag so an initial
commit can be used to both build

from ftp.suse.com 7.2_update I get the following "leak" :
using `scp' I tried to copy a file from a local floppy disk to a
remote system, but the disk had an read error and scp didn't get
any real data from floppy:

Rendering a view from a model
Hi peoples.
I have the following class method in a Rails model, in which I retrieve
some objects from the DB...
@bubbles = Bubble.find(:all, :limit => 30) # What is the limit?
open( "public/xml_data/main_data_feed.xml", "w" ) { | l | l.write
ERB.new( IO.read( File.join( RAILS_ROOT,
"app/views/rssfeed/bubbles.rhtml" ) ) ).result }

I've been getting a few of these errors on a couple different mboxes.
This is using the CVS version as of May 14.
So far, these are the only errors and it looks like most/all of the older
ones are gone. (maybe I shouldn't say that ;-)

using rsync to get filestats
Would it be more efficient to use rsync to get filestats instead of
using the 'find' command? I would like to know how big a directory is
on a filesystem, but this directory has millions of small files. I was
wondering if rsync would be more efficient than find when using "-n"
options.
TIA
